Defensive concerns for Mercury, offensive ones for the Storm

The Mercury defense looked porous without their perennial defensive anchor Brittney Griner. Tina Charles for all her scoring talent and rebounding prowess, isn’t much of a defender and Griner is absolutely needed to cover the ground. Meanwhile, Diana Taurasi is in the closing moments of her career and she can’t be expected to do much as a defender. Will Sophie Cunningham help out? The offense does look strong with Skylar Diggins-Smith, Diana, Peddy, and Charles.

The Storm has two big-time scorers in the form of Stewart and Loyd. Stewart once again showed her brilliant scoring in the first two games while Loyd can also turn on the jets. Apart from these two, Ezi Magbebor hasn’t looked in great offensive touch while Gabby Williams has been rather too inefficient.
