ATL vs CLE DREAM11 MATCH PREVIEW:

Two teams in desperate need of a win face off as Atlanta Hawks welcome Cleveland Cavaliers to Philips Arena (State Farm Arena), in Atlanta, Georgia for an NBA match, on Sunday morning (IST).

Atlanta Hawks:

Kent Bazemore’s game-high 32 points went in vain as Indiana Pacers beat Atlanta Hawks 121-129 at Philips Arena. Four other players scored in the double digits for Hawks but in the end, it proved insufficient.

Hawks have won just nine games all season but headed into the Pacers clash with three wins on the bounce. This was their biggest and the best streak this season which also included the wins over Washington Wizards and Detroit Pistons.

And it could have been fourth in a row and very much looked like it when Atlanta took a four-point lead at 85-81 with less than four minutes to go into the third quarter.

However, Indiana (22-12 in the season and 10-7 in the away game before the last match) upped the upped the ante in the fourth quarter as they went on a 14-3 run. The 11 point deficit proved to be too big a gap for the hosts and Atlanta could never recover from that stretch.

Hawks remained 12th in the Eastern Conference with a 9-24 run and remain one of the only five teams not to win games in double digits this season.

Cleveland Cavaliers:

This is perhaps the only team game where one player holds so much sway and influence on the team’s performance. LeBron James is not on the team’s roster and in the city as well. He has gone for the pastures new, leaving the team bereft of services of his biggest and the most famous son.

Take Lionel Messi out from Barcelona and what happens? Though the Catalan may struggle for the finesse and the fluidity that the Argentine provides on the football pitch, the team would still be too good for the most teams in La Liga. Only a handful of teams would go against them feeling more confident than when Messi is in the matchday squad.

But for Cavaliers, it has been a shocker of a season. From the heights of NBA finals and the luxury of fighting against perhaps the best ever team assembled on a Basketball court in Golden State Warriors to the depths of obscurity and the foot of the table in the Eastern Conference, it feels unthinkable to see the current state of the 2016 NBA Champions.

Now for the sake of judgement, LeBron was the key. The four-time NBA MVP was the presence which would suck the confidence out of many teams facing Cavaliers. Now Cleveland are so average that they have become the worst performing NBA team this season.

The last season’s NBA finalists have won just 8 games while 27 have gone south for them. Also, they are on a four-game losing streak coming into this match. Grizzlies beat them 95-87 in the last game.

Regular Season Record-
Atlanta Hawks: W-9, L-24
Cleveland Cavaliers: W-8, L-27

Players to watch out for:
Atlanta Hawks:

John Collins – One of the positive of the season for Atlanta Hawks is the rise of John Collins. The 2-year-old is racking up 18.5 points per game this season and remains on the radar of some big teams.

Trae Young – Hawks may be struggling this season but they have a very good future if they can hold on to their young prodigies. One of the future stars is Trae Young who is scoring at 15.5 points per game this season. The Oklahoma born star can pop up with big numbers in the game.

Cleveland Cavaliers:
Jordan Clarkson – With Kevin Love still missing, Clarkson is leading the team and has done a decent job up until now. The 26-year-old is going for 17.1 points per game which is the best for Cavaliers this season.
Collin Sexton – At just 19, he is outperforming some of his seasoned teammates. Cavaliers’ 2018 1st round pick is dropping more than 14 points per game this season.

ATL vs CLE DREAM11 TEAM NEWS:
Atlanta Hawks:

Injured – Hawks have Mason Plumlee (knee injury) and Taurean Prince (ankle injury) ruled out with injuries.
Questionable – While Center Alex Len is suffering from a lower back injury and has been listed as questionable ahead of the match.
Suspended – None

Cleveland Cavaliers:
Injured – Cavaliers’ struggling and that’s a bare truth. But their job hasn’t been helped by the big injury list that has been enduring all season. And it’s showing no signs of getting benign.
But no injury is deadly enough than the one keeping Kevin Love away from the action. The 31-year-old was hailed as the leader of the pack but he has been reduced to just four-game action and remains out for the indefinite period.
Other players who are set to miss the match are – John Henson (wrist injury), Rodney Hood (Achilles tendon injury), David Nwaba (knee injury) and J. R. Smith (personal reasons) all have been ruled out of this match.
Questionable – While Tristan Thompson (foot injury) and Ante Zizic (knee injury) are expected to be assessed ahead of the match.
Suspended – None.
