LAC vs LAL DREAM11 MATCH PREVIEW:

It’s a Derby in NBA as a rejuvenated Los Angeles Lakers welcome another city franchise Los Angeles Clippers to Staples Center for an NBA match, on Saturday morning (IST).

Los Angeles Lakers:

The Showtime did script a remarkable win over the biggest and the most formidable team in NBA Golden State Warriors in the last match. However, that statement win did come at a price which may derail some momentum of the team.

The matchup between these two teams was equivalent of Premier League’s boxing day extravaganza. The Cavaliers are not in the picture now. They are no longer the team for which Steve Kerr may lose his sleep over. It was LeBron’s presence which propelled Cavaliers to pull above their weights.

It’s the same with Lakers now, or it could be an exaggeration to some extent after what Rajon Rondo did in the match.

The big news which garnered all the attention after the match was James’ absence in the fourth quarter. The four-time NBA MVP fell awkwardly at the start of the third quarter and hobbled off the court with an injury and never returned in the match. At the time, Lakers were ahead by a massive 17 points.

And Warriors got the life back as they thumped points after points and reduced the deficit to just two points at 78-76 with less than three minutes to go in the third quarter. But this was the closest Warriors came in the match.

Rajon Rondo then showed his worth to the team. His experience was crucial during Warriors’ late stretch in the game. Not only his presence was a factor but he himself played some beautiful Basketball and ended up with 15 points, five rebounds and 10 assists in just 23 minutes.

Los Angeles Clippers:

The 127-118 scoreline which reads in favour of the Los Angeles Clippers doesn’t reveal the truth about the match. A nine-point win may be considered as a comfortable victory for any NBA team, but not fro Clippers in this match.

The win has everything in it. The potential of both the teams, the energy of the home support, the desire of players to win this particular match and very essence which separate an ordinary human being from the very best sports players; the pressure which forced Clippers to wilt.

The match had a Clippers win written all over it after the game started. The hosts came out of the blocks like wounded animals, toyed with the visitors and won the first quarter 39-27. The Clippers outpaced the Kings in the next two quarters as well, winning them 32-29 and 31-29 respectively to pull themselves 17 points clear going into the last quarter. But then the hosts crumbled to the extent that it could have been the biggest debacle and one the worst collapses of the current NBA season.

Kings called on to their second unit and got a response. Bogdan Bogdanovic led the charge, dropping team’s second high 13 points, and in total, the benchwarmers dropped a huge 54 points. Sacramento came within whisker of completing the comeback as they just trailed by 3 points with less than two minutes still in the game.

However, Montrezl Harrell took over the game, won the loose balls and dropped some crucial points to steer his team clear for a win. He finished with 22 points and 9 rebounds in the match.

Regular Season Record-
Los Angeles Lakers: W-20, L-14
Los Angeles Clippers: W-20, L-14

Players to watch out for:
Los Angeles Lakers:

Kyle Kuzma – The young superstar will be the focal point in the offensive area for Lakers as LeBron James is out injured. The 23-year-old may not be scoring as some of the young superstars this season, but he remains an integral part of the Lakers roster. At 23, he is still a work in progress. He is dropping 18.1 points per game, while his average in the last 1o games is 21.1 points per game.

Brandon Ingram – Lakers’ bad phase coincided with his injury and rounded off to some extent when the came back. The 21-year-old is a star for the future but he is still racking up good numbers.

Los Angeles Clippers:
Tobias Harris – He is the only player for the Los Angeles Clippers this season to average on the 20s. The 26-year-old is dropping 21.5 points per game. He is also racking most 8.2 rebounds per game.
Lou Williams – He features manly from the bench, but still racking up the 3rd best stats for Clippers this season. The 32-year-old hs a knack for dropping big numbers in the game, something which helped Clippers in the last match as he scored a team-high 24 points against Sacramento Kings.
