ATL vs LAC Dream11: When I follow the NBA games and see it in the context of whether Fantasy or in terms of the game complexion itself, the number of shifts throughout the season keeps on overwhelming me. As someone who covers the league on the daily basis, I got to ask you, what is the NBA to you? Is it just a mode to engage in the fantasy scenario? Do you like the up and down action or do you enjoy doing both and feel the adrenaline rush as the game progresses. And trust me, each game has something to give, don’t forget that the league is not all about superstars. And with that in mind, let us jump to the game between the Atlanta Hawks and the Los Angeles Clippers.

The Hawks need a huge boost to close out the season. They surely remain one of the favorites to seize the Play-in spots but you can never be in a secure position especially when the team is in the bottom ranks. Still, as long as Trae Young is figuring for the team, the Hawks will remain a dangerous team, especially for the teams hovering in the 50% win mark.

On the other hand, the Clippers have been around the 50% win mark for most parts. They have been doing a great job of keeping their campaign afloat despite missing most of their key pieces. The team may hit a couple of games with a cold spell but have shown the ability to bounce back from those games.

NBA Projections, Stats & Analysis

Hawks: They have not had a strong season
When you make the East Finals, big things are expected of you for the next season. The Hawks have not stood up to that billing and in the growing East, they have taken a step back. Last season, they finished fourth-ranked in the East but they have been in a rabbit hole of bottom Playoffs ranking throughout the season and there is no doubt that the team has looked plugged off since the beginning of the season. The Hawks are at tenth place in the East, but Wizards and Knicks are just behind them and they can be in for an intense race because you never know if either of those teams can hit a hot stretch.

Although, it isn’t like that the Hornets at the ninth place are doing any better and pretty much have the same record. If the Nets have Irving and Durant available for most parts, they can build separation from these two bottom teams but the Hawks have their work cut out and a winning streak can help them big-time at this point. They have been largely dependent upon the production of Trae Young, someone who has the capability of stitching together a bunch of points while also being an effective playmaker. Bogdanovic, Hunter, Collins, Gallinari, Capela, Okongwu, and Huerter have been playing their role, an improvement in defense can bring changes.

Clippers: Avoiding losing streaks well
Clippers snapped a rather embarrassing two-game losing streak versus the Wizards. Usually, when you miss two to three key players, two of them outright superstars(Leonard and George), there is a tendency to go on four+ game losing streaks, which the team has avoided big-time. As a matter of fact, the Clippers even went on a five-game winning streak recently and have also beaten strong teams like the Warriors and the Mavericks once. This means that this team has a lot of potential and with coach Ty Lue shuffling his options well, the players have done well to respond to the ball and there can be times when the team is down by 20+ but can still make a strong comeback.

The Clippers have been hanging on to their place largely due to their experience. Reggie Jackson has been the defining player, if he is having an off-night then the Clippers are most likely to lose. Wing Marcus Morris has been stepping up more often than not to cover up for the absence of Powell, George, and Leonard. On the other hand, the off-guard position could do more with Mann, Coffey, and Kennard, bringing different flavors. Ivica Zubac has been doing a more than decent job at the Center with his ability to crash inside points and notch much-needed rebounds while Isaiah Hartenstein has been doing his job as the backup Center. However, not having Robert Covington has hurt the team’s depth as he brought essential rebounding and defense while clipping some decent offense.
