BKN vs PHI Dream11 MATCH PREVIEW:

It’s time for the playoffs and it’s Philadelphia 76ers who will be starting the post-season with home advantage against Brooklyn Nets at Wells Fargo Center Philadelphia, in Philadelphia, on Saturday night (IST).

Philadelphia 76ers were never in danger of missing out on the post-season. Not even a lingering doubt when Joel Embiid was having a season of his life. Not after when 76ers traded for Jimmy Butler from Minnesota Timberwolves. There were never doubts.

Right from the start of the season, all the talk was about whether 76ers would be touching the +50 wins mark for the 2nd consecutive season. They just did that after ending the regular season with a 51-31 record.

But the real battle starts now. The real temperament and the team’s potential will be tested by the opponents’ hunger and aggression. Sure, the post-season can be a long and arduous journey for the team aiming for the ultimate glory.

But the Sixers have the potential to go all the way. They have added some supremely talented players for this kind of scenarios. Tobias Harris and Jimmy Butler both joined the team during the season. They certainly enjoyed the tag of another “Super-team” in the town.

Well, it’s finally time to see if the Sixers’ super-team is built for the playoffs. The first test comes from the Brooklyn Nets, a team that has punched above its weight and is seemingly happy just to be here.

A lot will also depend on the health of the team, especially of Joel Embiid’s. If his body manages to survive the demand of the postseason, 76ers can go far.

Brooklyn Nets meanwhile have come a long way as well. Just two seasons ago, they had one of the worst records in the regular season, 20-62 record. Even the last season was the same story as Nets finished the season with just 28 wins.

But as they say, “Somebody’s gain is somebody’s gain”, came the Los Angeles Lakers’ decision to let go D’Angelo Russell. Why? It’s a different matter altogether. But his inclusion and couple of other good purchase made the team a talented squad.

Regular Season Record-
Philadelphia 76ers:
W-52, L-31
Brooklyn Nets:
W-42, L-40

Players to watch out for:

Philadelphia 76ers:
Joel Embiid – He had another monster game scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds against Chicago Bulls. He is Sixers’ best player this season by some margin. The 25-year-old Center is stacking up 27.3 points per game and 13.7 rebounds per game this season.

Tobias Harris – Perhaps the last piece of the jigsaw for Sixers. Ever since he joined Philadelphia from Los Angeles Clippers, this team is believed to go some distance in the post-season. For his part, the 26-year-old small forward is racking up 20.2 points per game.

Brooklyn Nets:
D’Angelo Russell – The force behind Nets’ rise this season. On current form, he is one of the best players in NBA and certainly a player who can touch every lofty height in this sport. The 23-year-old former Los Angeles Lakers point-guard is averaging 21.1 points per game this season. But the last 10 games are the real indicator of the form he is in of late, scoring at 26.7 per game in that period.

Spencer Dinwiddie – The 2nd best player for Nets this season is Spencer Dinwiddie. An indispensable part of the squad. The 25-year-old point guard is averaging 17.4 points per game this season, which is a significant improvement on his career average of 11.0 points per game.

Philadelphia 76ers:

Injured – Though Sixers have listed only James Ennis as out ahead of this match, some big guns are in danger of missing out on the match. The list is below:

Another starter whose inclusion is under the doubt is JJ Redick. He is recovering from a back injury, while Jonah Bolden is doubt due to a knee injury.
Suspended – None.

Brooklyn Nets:
Injured – DeMarre Carroll (wrist injury) and Allen Crabbe (knee injury) will both be missing the first game of the series for Nets due to their injuries.
Questionable – While the shocker for the Nets could be Joe Harris. He has been one of the best shooters this season, but he could miss the game as he is suffering from a foot injury.
 Suspended – None.

BKN vs PHI Dream11 Fantasy Team:

INDIA FANTASY PREDICTION:
If Joel Embiid fails to recover for the game, Brooklyn Nets should sense an opportunity here. Sure, when D’Angelo Russell is such a good form.
Having said that, both the teams have split the head to head record this season, with the last game won by 76ers 113-83.
But our bet is on 76ers who are at home for the first match.
