BOS vs ATL Dream11: The All-Star break is knocking at our doorsteps and well, this break will bring in a relaxation window for many players. And oh lord! Don’t they need after going up and down the floor for so many games? So, yes, this window is welcoming in many ways. Past the window, the race to the Playoffs will only intensify and the Play-in tournament opens up two additional spots since the last season. Anyway, let us jump into the game between the Boston Celtics and the Atlanta Hawks.

The Celtics are peaking at the right time and they have won seven games in a row, playing a brilliant brand of basketball, especially on the defensive end. They are one of the most alluring squads on paper and with Derrick White in the mix, they have solidified their Point Guard position. The Celtics will look to end the window on a high as they enter the All-Star Break.

On the other hand, the Hawks are faltering right now and with John Collins out of the mix, their Power Forward position has been hurt big-time. The Hawks depend largely upon Trae Young who enables the high-yielding offense through his brilliant scoring and playmaking. However, it is the other end of the floor that has been the problem for the team throughout the season.

NBA Projections, Stats & Analysis

Celtics: The ball movement can improve even further, the defense is already solid

The Celtics have been in a great rhythm and much of the onus belongs to the defensive end where the team has made superb inroads. The team has also improved the play away from home, which has been the real reason for their huge boost recently. The Celtics also have a strong rebounding squad and their help defense is a thing of beauty. They can play disciplined one-on-one defense but their help defense is equally impressive with bigs like Al Horford and Robert Williams III holding the fort in the middle. This is a great sign because the team can really dig in when the game slows down during the Playoffs.

Let us talk about the passing unit of the team which has been bolstered by the inclusion of Derrick White. Tatum, Brown, Smart, and White are four tremendous passers and recently, the Celtics have improved their knack for getting assists. White also adds long-range shooting in the mix and he can be a difference-maker once the Playoffs arrive. With Brown and Tatum, the team gets multi-dimensional scoring, Smart has also had some big offensive games recently while Robert Williams III can dunk hard and also produce second-chance points. Grant Williams can shoot from outside and overall, the Celtics have multiple isolation scorers, playmakers, and their three-point shooting can also heat up. Isn’t the Celtics becoming a real threat now?

Hawks: It is getting tougher to catch-up
The Hawks made the Eastern Finals last season but this time around, the challenge to reach there has increased. Apart from the Celtics, Heat and Raptors have elevated their play this season and the Eastern Conference has certainly become a lot tougher to crack this time around. They will, of course, get a huge challenge from the Bucks who beat them in the Eastern Finals, and the Sixers after getting James Harden can take it up a notch. Overall, the Hawks are falling behind as of now, and yes, they did make a strong push to finish the last season but they have lost rather way too much against elite squads in the East recently.

Trae Young is the prime option on offense and he is the one who opens up the driving and shooting lanes for others with his ability to make passes from tough angles, making him one of the best Guards in the league. Bogdan Bogdanovic, Kevin Huerter, and Danilo Gallinari make for a great perimeter shooting team while the currently injured John Collins because he can bring in brilliant finishes inside. Capela, whose impact has reduced, can still give quality inside scoring and rebounding along with above-average defense. De’Andre Hunter can be a difference-maker once the Playoffs arrive but it is not the overdependency on Trae and the lack of defense that has hurt the team.
