DEN vs DET Dream11: The mid-season window is in full flow and this is a great time period for some teams to seek some trades and fill in some holes. The NBA is always unpredictable but there are some players who keep on playing at the same high-level game in and game out. However, it is more than that. Are you given the opportunity? Is this team’s current system suiting you?

There are a lot more dynamics than a stat sheet can ever display. Still, as a writer, it is a passion of mine to gauge what team setups and players setups develop over the course of this long long season.

In this particular scenario, the Denver Nuggets will host the Detroit Pistons. Nuggets have been somehow hovering around the 50% win mark with Nikola Jokic at the helm, who is the leader of this team. Overall, yes, some players have raised their games as the season has progressed but yes, this squad has shown some promise. Can they go on a deep Playoff run? Well, let us see when Porter Jr. and Murray return.

On the other hand, the Detroit Pistons have been having another difficult season after finishing last in the East during the 2020-21 season. The Pistons are a rebuilding squad mostly fielding youngsters in the lineup who are still learning the system. But for me, they are a fun team because of the aforementioned youth, they have actually done well this month!

NBA Projections, Stats & Analysis

Nuggets: Need to be more consistent
Nikola Jokic has been the driving force behind Nuggets keeping it within the Play-in tournament range this season. The reigning MVP has once again proven why he earned that award last season and he has been an incredible presence at the rebounding end, scoring, and playmaking on a regular basis. Aaron Gordon has helped out the team on the offensive end while Barton and Morris have been doing a decent job at the guard position. Meanwhile Jeff Green has been a superb slasher and his power dunks and tough finishes can excite his teammates and fans alike. The problem is that the bench is thin for the team and they don’t have much depth. Yes, they brought in Bryn Forbes, but for me, getting a defensive guard who can insert 2-3 threes a game would have been a better option. The Nuggets have six wins and five losses this month and this has been the theme for the season usually. A long winning streak can help them out big time.

Pistons: The next season draft is crucial
The Pistons are having their best month in terms of wins by far. They have won and lost six games so far and guess what, they had just five wins in two months+ windows before, meaning just two wins per month. However, that is the expected outcome since the team is largely young and without a core player who can run the squad. Well, perhaps, they can develop some players into long-term franchise faces but let us see what they have. Rookie Cade has played better than any month especially on the scoring end, Saddiq Bey has been playing well since December, but apart from these two, other young players have struggled rather way too much. Killian Hayes, the sophomore continues to have trouble shooting the ball, Isaiah Stewart, while I know is mostly a defensive and hustle player, but I think he has to way go on that end too(Still, can’t blame him for being surrounded by so-so defenders). Trey Lyles has been having his best month, while Cory Joseph provides experience at the guard position. Hamidou Diallo shares off-guard minutes with Rodney McGruder, the latter being a better shooter. Overall, the Pistons will be looking keenly at the next draft to get a young player who can complement the current young core but yes, I feel the Pistons’ current core hasn’t settled in.
