Bojan Bogdanovic Otto Porter Jr. GSW vs UTA Dream11

GSW vs UTA Dream11: There is this thing with the NBA midseason that makes this window highly interesting. It looks quiet and when the trade deadline nears, boom, you can get showered with trades as different managements try to work out what they want and what they can afford to give in exchange. See, with the trade deadline less than three weeks ago, be prepared to witness some trades, and well, as a writer, that can make for tricky writing. Well, in this situation, it also means that the dynamics of certain teams can change. Anyway, let us jump into the affair between the Golden State Warriors and Utah Jazz.

The Warriors have a wonderful record garnering 71% wins but this month has been tough. Well, they have hit one of those tough phases and with Green out, they have lost around half of their games. Yes, Thompson is back but I think Kerr will take a bit of time to adjust lineups after his return. The Warriors can get out of the funk because they have established tight principles and if they brave the current window, they can get back to their old winning ways.

On the other hand, the Utah Jazz have almost twice more wins than losses but hey, they have struggled even more this month compared to the Warriors. Their defensive shortcomings have made it so that they have lost more than half of their games this month and this has been the most taxing window for the team. Will they make some trades to address the current scenario or will they trust the current core?

NBA Projections, Stats & Analysis

Warriors: Temporary issues or just no Green blues
Recently, the Warriors have played like they did last season. Rushing shots, turning the ball over at key moments, and just flat-out forcing the issue. Well, this time around, there are two main reasons for that. One, they are missing their heart and soul Draymond Green, whose value is as much as Curry in my opinion. Draymond provides brilliant communication on the defensive end, picking up open assignments, giving major hustle, and also playing more than impressive one-on-one defense. On the offensive end, Green sets tough screens, sets up teammates for easy shots, and again, his leadership on both ends is a huge reason why the Warriors were on fire earlier.

Secondly, since Thompson has returned, Jordan Poole has been off his game. He has been shifted to the bench and I know Thompson is a superstar-level player but I’d have stuck with the Poole-Curry-Wiggins-Porter-Looney starting five, bringing the Payton-Thompson-Kuminga-Bjelica combination off the bench. Curry has been struggling in terms of shooting the ball and he has been this way for some time now. However, I believe the bigger issue here is that the lineup has shuffled way too much since late December when earlier the Curry-Poole-Wiggins-Green-Looney lineup worked with Payton and other bench players acting as more than decent fillers. Can the Warriors figure out some winning combinations and find a way to get Poole minutes even when Thompson plays?

Jazz: Their fans have shown some concerns
It is clear that Utah hasn’t played their best basketball this month, in fact, they have struggled rather way too much. Why? Well, when Gobert went down, the team lost four out of their five games and struggled to make ends meet especially on the defensive end. Well, Gobert provides the Jazz boost on both ends, his activity level playing a decisive role, you can compare his impact to Green, just that he is more of an inside defensive threat, a better rebounder, and a better finisher while Green is a better perimeter defender and playmaker. However, in terms of overall gameplay, the Rudy Gobert factor is huge for Jazz. However, he and O’Neale seem to be the only reliable defenders along with perhaps Conley, whose defense is not the same as before.

Even with Mitchell out, the Jazz can generate a ton of offense. Conley, Clarkson, and Bogdanovic can manufacture shots in tough situations and are all reliable shooters. Bogdanovic has raised his scoring without Mitchell as he gets more touches and can work it more in the isolation situation compared to the off-the-ball situations. Gobert when he is on song can keep pounding dunks and use his length and grit to finish near the rim. However, it is the defensive end that has been the problem for this team and I guess it was due to that factor why they couldn’t make a deep Playoffs run last season. Will they bring in some two-way wing/guard in a trade or will they trust the current core?

NBA Scores, Fantasy Basketball Top Picks

Rudy Gobert(UTA)
Points: 24
Rebounds: 14
Assists: 01
Blocks: 04
Jazz struggled to stay afloat when Gobert was absent. The Center scores inside, clamp boards, and is the reigning Defensive Player of the Year. Gobert has scored 18 or more in five games straight while clamping 14-19 rebounds and collecting 2-4 blocks regularly. He is QUESTIONABLE for the game.
Expected Fantasy Points Range: 37-50

Stephen Curry(GSW)
Points: 22
Rebounds: 04
Assists: 12
Blocks: 01
Steals: 01
Curry has had some trouble shooting the ball from beyond the arc but hey, just his presence means there is a threat of a three-ball getting drilled. The guard has been shooting 30% or less continually from beyond the arc, but still, a 22-30 points range and 8-12 assists can be expected from the guard. Steph can be selected as a Star/Pro Player in the Dream 11 NBA Fantasy scenario.
Expected Fantasy Points Range: 40-56

Bojan Bogdanovic(UTA)
Points: 23
Rebounds: 06
Assists: 02
Steals: 01
Bojan is a top-notch perimeter shooter and his shooting also opens up mid-range and inside lanes for the terrific wing. In absence of Donovan, he can raise his scoring range from 16-22 to 23-30, he has done that historically whenever Mitchell has been out.
Expected Fantasy Points Range: 30-40
Bojan Bogdanovic GSW vs UTA Dream11

Andrew Wiggins(GSW)
Points: 17
Rebounds: 02
Assists: 04
Andrew has given the Warriors stable scoring and defensive chops at the wing to the Warriors and he is highly important to the team’s cause. He has been scoring in the 17-21 points range and can also go beyond 25 points range every now and then.
Expected Fantasy Points Range: 23-35

Jordan Clarkson(UTA)
Points: 20
Rebounds: 04
Assists: 01
Blocks: 01

Clarkson is one of the best bench scorers in the league so much so that he was awarded the Sixth Player of the Year title last season. And well, he has continued where he left off, scoring in the 16-23 points range on a regular basis.
Expected Fantasy Points Range: 25-32

Kevon Looney(GSW)
Points: 08
Rebounds: 12
Assists: 00
Blocks: 04
Steals: 01
Looney has done a great job of picking up rebounds with one of the major rebounders Green gone from the fray. The Center also provides quality defense and has grabbed 10-15 rebounds a game these days while clinching multiple steals and blocks.
Expected Fantasy Points Range: 18-30

Mike Conley(UTA)
Points: 19

Rebounds: 04
Assists: 04
Steals: 01
The veteran guard is known for well-crafted gameplay and even his defense has receded a tad bit, he can make a huge difference as a playmaker and scorer. Mike has raised his scoring level from 11-14 range to 17-20 while dishing 4-6 assists during most games.
Expected Fantasy Points Range: 30-42

GSW vs UTA DREAM11 LINEUP BALANCERS

  • Royce O’Neale(UTA) had 5 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist in the last game. The big Forward isn’t one of the main options on offense, usually scoring in the 5-9 points range while usually grabbing 3-5 rebounds a game.
  • Jordan Poole(GSW) had 20 rebounds, 3 assists, 3 rebounds, 1 block in the last game. Poole has been having a breakout season but his minutes have taken a hit since Thompson is back. I believe he will adjust to his role soon and expect him to be in the 12-16 points range.
  • Otto Porter Jr.(GSW) had 13 points, 7 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block in the last game. Otto has been usually scoring in the 6-9 points and 5-8 rebounds range this season.
  • Rudy Gay(UTA) had 4 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals in the last game. The veteran wing has scored in the 4-9 points range while grabbing 4 or more rebounds regularly per game.
  • Gary Payton II(GSW) had 8 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block in the last game. Is the limit for the high-flying Payton? I think a 6-9 points and 4-7 rebounds range looks possible.
  • Nemanja Bjelica(GSW) had 2 points, 4 rebounds, 3 assists, 2 steals, 1 block in the last contest. The big has usually figured in the 2-9 points and 3-7 rebounds range throughout the season.
  • Damion Lee(GSW) had 8 points, 2 rebounds in the last contest. I doubt he will get many minutes here especially if Klay plays. Expect a 4-9 scoring range usually.
  • Joe Ingles(UTA) had 5 points, 5 assists, 3 rebounds in the last game. Ingles hasn’t been scoring as much as last season, around 5 points or so while giving around 5 assists. I believe he will figure in the 9-14 points range here.
  • Jonathan Kuminga(GSW) had 7 points, 2 rebounds in the last game. Jonathan has received some decent minutes for a rookie. He can score 5 or more every now and then.
  • Eric Paschall(UTA) had 3 points, 3 rebounds in the last game. Eric is a decent backup option and if Gobert doesn’t play, he can slate in for 30 minutes or so. If Gobert doesn’t play, expect a 10-18 points and 4-7 rebounds range, if he does play then the last game numbers pretty much reflect how he may fare.
