DET vs IND Dream11 MATCH PREVIEW:

High-flying Indiana Pacers will be looking for their fourth win on the trot when they host Detroit Pistons in an NBA match at Bankers Life Fieldhouse, in Downtown Indianapolis, Indiana, on Saturday morning (IST).

Indiana Pacers:

Indiana Pacers registered their third straight win when they beat Atlanta Hawks 121-129 on the road. It was Pacers’ 11th win in away games this season and they remain one of the best travelling teams in NBA this season.

The match against Atlanta Hawks was not easy by any means. Hawks may be reeling outside the playoff positions and they may be one of the only five teams not to win games in double digits, but they headed into that game on the back of three straight wins, including a 118-111 win over Washington Wizards.

Pacers are on a roll themselves, possessing the third best record in the Eastern Conference. So it was always going to be an intriguing battle and it proved to be just like that. The visitors struggled to cope with the home team’s intensity as Hawks scored 17 three-pointers in the match, and were the better team in the first half as they led 67-64 going into the break.

The Pacers then took charge of the game as they went on a 19-10 run deep in the third quarter which gave them an 87-85 lead. Myles Turner then scored a 3-pointer to make it 90-88 in the third quarter and Indiana never trailed in the match after that.

Head coach Nate McMillan fielded just nine players in the match with six of them hitting in the double-digits. Thaddeus Young topped the scoring charts as he scored 21 points for the Pacers.

Detroit Pistons:

Blake Griffin scored 23 points while Langston Galloway starred from the bench as Detroit Pistons defeated Washington Wizards 106-95 at Little Caesars Arena in a battle between the two Eastern Conference teams.

Pistons were heading into the match after a poor run of form left them at sixth in the table. They had lost nine of the last 11 matches coming into the match against Wizards and were clearly short on confidence. And the match looked going into the normal trajectory as visitors never let the Griffin and Co. take a breather, and took a one-point lead into the break.

However, a fast start in the 3rd quarter broke Wizards’ resilience and Detroit ended up winning it 31-17 and never trailed in the match.

Andre Drummond scored 16 points and 11 rebounds in the match and record his 10th double-double of the season, while Galloway dropped 22 points from the bench to lead the 2nd unit charge. Reggie Jackson had a great game as well, as he scored 19 points and 6 assists in the match.

Pistons are now sixth in the Eastern Conference with a 16-16 record this season. But Brooklyn Nets, who are seventh in the table, are just two games away from them at this stage.

Regular Season Record-
Indiana Pacers: W-23, L-12
Detroit Pistons: W-16, L-16

Players to watch out for:
Indiana Pacers:
Victor Oladipo – Pacers are more of a team and it shows in their points distribution. Victor Oladipo is the only player who is averaging in the 20s this season. The 26-year-old missed the start of the campaign with a knee injury but he is back fit and leading his team’s charge this season.
Domantas Sabonis – The 22-year-old is third on the list of points per game for Indiana Pacers this season. But his overall contribution is commendable. The Portland-born power forward is scoring 14.3 points per game but is dropping 9.6 rebounds per game, highest for his team this season.

Detroit Pistons:
Blake Griffin – He is the biggest reason why Pistons are targetting a playoff position this season. The 29-year-old is racking up some insane numbers this season, dropping a shade over 25 points per game. These are pretty solid stats, and good enough to fetch Detroit a very good position come the end of the season.
Andre Drummond – The 6’11’’ giant is some presence inside the paint. Still only 25, the 2012 1st round pick is racking up good numbers this season, both defensively and in the offensive department. He is accumulating 15.5 rebounds per game which is the best in NBA this season.
