GSW vs DEN Dream11: NBA keeps expanding its fanbase and for a writer based in India, the journey of watching the league since 2010 has been a ride. Although I am more of an 80s styled basketball fan for many reasons, the current era has seen the rise of a new form of skillset, and well, each era has its own wonderful elements, isn’t it? Dating back to the days of springy and speedy Center Wilt Chamberlain, Bill Russell, to the 70s-80s era of Kareem Abdul-Jabbar with his hook, then the Olajuwon era back in the 80s-90s. Then the Shaq attack, Dwight’s athletic dominance. And talking about Centers, here we come to Nikola Jokic, who will lead the Denver Nuggets against the Golden State Warriors.

The Warriors have been the team with the second-best record, and they have lodged 40 or more wins, only three of the squads so far to get to 40+ wins. The team has gotten back superstar Off-guard Klay Thompson and he has already lodged a 30+ points game. With Steph Curry at the helm, the Warriors look like they are on a mission.

On the other hand, the Nuggets have been battling hard and they have had a strong season since January especially. With Jokic around, they are able to get quality scoring, playmaking, and rebounding, and their current record would not have been possible without him. The Nuggets have been extremely short-handed with two of the star players out.

NBA Projections, Stats & Analysis

Warriors: They can be in the Finals!
Yeah, yeah, the Warriors have lost three out of the last four games, but so what! This happens to many teams during the long course of the season and well, the Warriors have still not figured out their new combinations and need the fit of Draymond Green, who will be needed down the line on the defensive end and for his overall skillset. They have a core of Curry, Green, Thompson, Looney, Poole, and Lee, players who have played together for years now and of course, Andrew Wiggins, who has been a transformative wing for this squad. This is what can make them unstoppable once the Playoffs arrive.

The Warriors have an incredible three-point shooting lineup with Curry, Thompson, and Poole, all three capable scorers, and shooters. They form one of the deepest guards combinations in the league. On the other hand, once Green returns, the Forward lineup of Wiggins, Porter Jr., and Green looks like a defensive nightmare. Apart from that, the Warriors’ ability to slow down the game and also turn it up is also huge. However, the team will need to figure out a way to get more playing time for Poole, I think a brief window of Curry and Poole at guard, Thompson, and Wiggins as wings and Green at the Center can be a way to go once Green returns. What a lineup that can be!

Nuggets: They can make some noise
The Nuggets may not look like a championship contender by any stretch but they have one huge weapon in their arsenal and that is Nikola Jokic. Someone who has always elevated his play during Playoff time. With Jokic, the Nuggets get tough inside scoring, someone who can shoot as well, while Jokic’s ability to push the ball and set-up teammates is huge when scoring is tougher during the Playoffs. Nikola’s rebounding will play a huge role as well and as long as he stays healthy, don’t sleep on the Nuggets, they can be a force. It is true that they have been weakened with injuries to Michael Porter Jr. and Jamal Murray, but they can’t be taken lightly.

And for them to be not taken lightly, Aaron Gordon and Will Barton will have to combine for strong production come playoff time. Apart from them, Jeff Green will be crucial as a slasher and get those easy points close to the rim. Monte Morris who has been injured these days will be a huge huge factor with his ability to score from the perimeter and also act as a ball-handler. The bench is a concern but yes, rookie Bones Hyland has some promise as a shooter. The team does need more from Bryn Forbes and also JaMychal Green. But let us see, what combinations Nuggets figure as the season closes.
