GSW vs SAC DREAM11 MATCH PREVIEW:

Golden State Warriors will look to bury the misery of the last game when they play Sacramento Kings on the road at Golden 1 Center, in Sacramento, California, on Friday morning (IST).

Golden State Warriors:

The season is still long and one or two games won’t tell us the true potential of a team. Few defeats won’t be derailing the ambitions of teams in a regular season which lasts for 82 games.

But for the defending champions, the result in the last match could be an indicator of things coming in the not so distant future as a new and a genuine power is rising in the East.

After the departure of Lebron James from Cleveland Cavaliers, a move which took him to the Los Angeles Lakers, many predicted that the real forces are in the Western Conference and once Steve Kerr’s win it, there won’t be a hurdle too big to stop them from winning yet another NBA championship.

Indeed, it could have been the case. Boston Celtics were the only team earmarked to be the real contender. But for all their and unparalleled enthusiasm on the court, the Greens are still very much in transition and their young guns will take a year or two to fully unlock their vast potential. But Kawhi Leonard’s move to Toronto Raptors changed everything.

The Dubs have lost three-time in the last seven games, two of which came against the Toronto Raptors; minus their best player as Kawhi Leonard missed the match with an injury. While Warriors were at full strength, a different scenario from when these two teams faced each other less than a fortnight ago.

Toronto looked more fresh as they looked to be in urgency, won the loose balls more than the visitors and won for the first time in Oakland.

Sacramento Kings:

Sacramento Kings moved to 8th in the Western Conference table after beating Minnesota Timberwolves 141-130 at Golden 1 Center. It was their 2nd win on the trot, and fourth in the last five games.

Nemanja Bjelica starred for his team, hitting four three-pointers and led his team from the front. The 30-year-old Serbian dropped a team-high 25 points in the match. While Buddy Hield scored 20 points and Bogdan Bogdanovic had another solid performance from the match, dropping 20 points, 6 assists and five rebounds in the match.

Sacramento led 63-50 at the half-time but Timberwolves opened the 3rd quarter with 11 straight points and 21 of the first 26 points to put their noses in front at 71-68 in the middle of the 2nd last quarter.

But the hosts responded with 11 points and never trailed again in the match.

Regular Season Record-
Sacramento Kings: W-15, L-12
Golden State Warriors: W-19, L-10

Players to watch out for:

Sacramento Kings:

Buddy Hield – Bahamas born superstar is averaging 18.3 points per game this season which is way higher than his career average. The 24-year-old is in good form in the last five games or so, scoring more than 20 four times in the last five games.

De’Aaron Fox – He is just 20 but is spending more minutes on the court than any of his teammates. For the stats, his average is 17.9 points per game.

Golden State Warriors:

Kevin Durant – The former Oklahoma City Thunder star scored a game-high 30 points in the match against Toronto Raptors at a time when Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson both endured a frustrating night. The reigning NBA MVP is scoring 28.9 points per game, joint best for the Dubs this season.

Stephen Curry – It was one of those nights when stars lost their light. The two-time NBA MVP struggled in all aspects of the games against Raptors. But he will be back to his best, that’s a guarantee. The 30-year-old is tied at the top with Durant in terms of averaging points for Warriors this season.
