HOU vs OKC Dream11 MATCH PREVIEW:

Two Western Conference giants will lock horns when Houston Rockets welcome Oklahoma City Thunder to the Toyota Center, in Houston, Texas, on Wednesday morning (IST).

Houston Rockets:

Head coach Mike D’Antoni was left befuddled after Houston Rockets’ win over San Antonio Spurs in the last game. And that’s because this was achieved without Chris Paul who missed the match with a grade 2 strain of his left hamstring and will be out at least two weeks.

The former Los Angeles Clippers star may not be scoring points as much as he is capable of, but the 33-year-old’s defensive work and the role he is playing of late has been immaculate. And Houston have reacted by signing his former teammate Austin Rivers for the rest of the season.

The win highlighted the change in Rockets’ fortune in the recent weeks. It was not long ago when they were reeling in the foot of the table, losing games after games against even the weaker teams. But the D’Antoni’s men are now back into the form and are sitting at 8th with a 17-15 record in the Western Conference.

Before Friday’s 101-99 loss against Miami Heat, Rockets were on a five-game winning streak. But they got back to winning ways with a statement 108-101 win over the San Antonio Spurs. James Harden topped the scoring once again, as he dropped a game-high 39 points in the match.

Oklahoma City Thunder:

Oklahoma City Thunder suffered a shock result in the last game as they went down against Minnesota Timberwolves at home. The Thunder lost 112-114 which was their only fourth loss at the Chesapeake Energy Arena.

After hanging on to their lives for an away win against high-flying Utah Jazz on Saturday, Thunder struggled for the 2nd night in a row as they looked off-colour and couldn’t cope with the intensity of the opponents.

Minnesota were coming into the match trying to avoid the 7th loss in the last 8 games. The visitors were relentless from the outset, winning the first quarter 35-25. But Oklahoma then showed their might in the 2nd quarter as they outclassed, outperformed, and outplayed Wolves by a massive 20 points, winning it 38-18 and took the 10-point lead into the 2nd half.

But then it was Minnesota’s turn as they forced a dumfounded Thunder in the 3rd quarter and won it 17-33. That was it, and Oklahoma could never erase the deficit and ended up losing the match.

Regular Season Record-
Houston Rockets: W-17, L-15
Oklahoma City Thunder: W-21, L-11

Players to watch out for:
Houston Rockets:
James Harden – Few players can match the form of James Harden these days. The Rockets are almost out of the rut they found themselves for most of the season and it is because of Harden’s incredible form. The reigning NBA MVP is dropping unbelievable numbers this season. The 50s, the 40s, and the 30s have become a norm for the 28-year-old. He is also the only player this season to average in the 30s, with his season average counting for 31.8 points per game.
Clint Capela – The 24-year-old is going for 17 points per game this season. He is 2nd on the list and ahead of superstar Chris Paul at the moment. He is also racking up 11.8 rebounds per game for Houston this season.

Oklahoma City Thunder:
Paul George – He is having one of the best seasons of his career. The former Indiana Pacers’ star is averaging 26.2 points per game and is outperforming Rusell Westbrook by some six points per game. The 28-year-old scored 31 points in the last match as well.
Russell Westbrook – His points tally has gone down by a good amount this season but that doesn’t mean he is out of form or is struggling to make an impact. The 2017 NBA MVP is averaging triple-doubles this season and is the only player to do so. This could be a sign about the role he may have been assigned as Westbrook targets a much-deserved NBA title.
