LAL vs MIN Dream11 MATCH PREVIEW:

Los Angeles Lakers will face a stern test at home when they face a rejuvenated Minnesota Timberwolves in an NBA match at Staples Center, on Friday morning (IST).

The Showtime suffered their second consecutive defeat after going down 111-130 at home against Golden State Warriors. It was Lakers’ sixth loss in the last 10 games, and ninth in the last 14 since LeBron James’ suffered a groin injury against the Dubs on Boxing Day.

The 16-time NBA champion have slipped out of the top-8 positions, sitting at 9th with a 25-23 record going into their next encounter against Minnesota Timberwolves.

But not everything is doom and gloom. The regular season is too long. Every team, no matter how poor they have performed, has the chance to nail down playoff positions provided they outperform and win more matches than their opponents. LeBron James is now close to making a return and the Showtime will be a different animal once he is in the starting line-up.

Also, there are other positives to take. Like Kyle Kuzma’s performance. The 23-year-old has taken his game to new heights in the last 10 matches or so. While Ivica Zubac looks motivated and rejuvenated and provides more options at the center.

The visitors, on the other hand, are going in the opposite direction after winning their last two games. Though the opponents were not as formidable as what Lakers faced in their last three matches, still Wolves should take heart from their last game where everything clicked from them, from the defensive unit to offensive players, everybody enjoyed the destruction of Phoenix Suns.

The Wolves are 6-4 in the last 10 games and 5-5 in the last 10 away games. For the season, they are on 23-24 but only four games from clawing back into the playoff positions. So this is a chance for Derrick Rose to keep the good streak going as Lakers are certainly feeling the heat at the moment.

Regular Season Record-
Los Angeles Lakers:
W-25, L-23
Minnesota Timberwolves:
W-23, L-24

Players to watch out for:

Los Angeles Lakers:
Kyle Kuzma –
This young prodigy is already a star and is racking points at a very good rate this season. LeBron James’ injury may have hurt the team’s position on the table badly, but the 23-year-old’s mature performances should give the whole squad and the fans a cause for optimism. At the moment, the 2017 first round pick is averaging 23.8 points per game in the last 10 games or so. Pretty awesome!
Brandon Ingram – Another young stalwart who has managed to make a name for himself during Lakers’ LeBron-less outings, is Brandon Ingram. The 21-year-old has 15 scores in the double-digits I his last 16 games. That’s a good contribution by a player who is still learning the trade of performing at the very highest level of sports.

Minnesota Timberwolves:
Karl-Anthony Towns –
He has upped his game in the last few games, and it shows in Wolves’ improvement on the table. The 23-year-old is now a go-to-man for the team after the departure of Jimmy Butler, and boy he has really stepped up to take the mantle of team’s best player. This season, the 7-foot Center is averaging 22.5 points per game.
Derrick Rose – The three-time NBA All-Star is a household name in the world of Basketball. He is a former NBA MVP, winning it in 2011 for his incredible contribution to Chicago Bulls; historic 2010-11 regular season. The injuries have marred his progress and that is the real reason why we haven’t seen his true potential on the court. Still, the 30-year-old is one of the Wolves’ best players on his day.

LAL vs MIN Dream11 TEAM NEWS:
Los Angeles Lakers:

Injured – Lonzo Ball suffered an ankle injury in Lakers’ 134-138 defeat against Houston Rockets. The 21-year-old missed the game against Warriors and has been ruled out from their next match as well.
Questionable LeBron James has been listed as questionable, that’s a piece of good news for all Lakers fans that he is close to returning. But the 2nd part of that news is that the four-time NBA MVP is not expected to play any part against Timberwolves. That game has come too soon for him.
Suspended – None.

Minnesota Timberwolves:
Injured – Wolves will be shorthanded for this match as the injuries to some key players means the visitors won’t be at full strength.
Robert Covington (knee injury) and Tyes Jones (ankle injury) both have been ruled out with their respective injuries.
Questionable – Meanwhile, Jeff Teague is yet to fully recover from the foot injury which forced him to miss the last game against Phoenix Suns. The 30-year-old remains questionable.
Suspended – None.

LAL vs MIN Dream11 Fantasy Team:

INDIA FANTASY PREDICTION:

It’s getting tighter now in the Western Conference. The absence of LeBron James has been proved to be too fatal for the Showtime as from fourth in the table, they are now outside the playoff positions.
Minnesota Timberwolves, on the other hand, are putting up a string of wins of late. And now find themselves just two games adrift of Lakers heading into this match. So this game is pretty crucial for both sets of teams.
Lakers are at home and we back them to win this match.
