LAL vs OKC Dream11 MATCH PREVIEW:

Los Angeles Lakers will be looking for their 2nd win on the trot when they host Oklahoma City Thunder in an NBA match at Staples Center, in Los Angeles, on Thursday morning (IST).

Los Angeles Lakers:
There’s no doubt that Los Angeles Lakers have made some huge strides this season. Not since 2012 had they made into the postseason, and the current situation indicates towards the end of the barren run.

The turnaround in the 16 times NBA champions’ fortunes could be pointed towards that moment when LeBron James decided to head to the West to wear the famous yellow jersey. The impact was almost immediate as Lakers defeated some big teams, and have been dangling in or around the top six for the most part of the current season.

However, this is a team sport and any improvement should be judged when the team maintains its high standards even if a big star misses the match with different reasons. And that’s what’s happening at Staples Center.

LeBron suffered a groin injury and has missed the last three games. Lakers have lost two times in his absence, falling to not so potent teams. However, the Showtime won the last game 121-114, beating Sacramento Kings.

Oklahoma City Thunder:
Russell Westbrook came out in the open and let his anger vent out in front of the whole world. He was not talking nonsense about any other player, neither he was critical of any refereeing decision. Rather he was hard on himself, cursing and lamenting about his underwhelming and worst offensive performances this season.

He was pissed off and why not, he should be. He is too good a talent to have so many bad days. And this season there have been too many negative dots in his performances.

The last one which forced him to question how own ability and contribution came in the 105-103 loss against Dallas Mavericks. Believe it or not he managed just 9 points in that match, coming on 4-of-22 shooting. And it’s clear too that had it not been for the ultra efforts and incredible consistency of Paul George, Thunder would have been outside the playoff positions.

However, this is also a fact that beyond every probability, Westbrook can’t cascade deeper into his own abyss. And that’s a warning sign for other teams as George is just being himself once again, while Westbrook, well we know how high he can take his game.

Regular Season Record-
Los Angeles Lakers: W-21, L-16
Oklahoma City Thunder: W-23, L-13

Players to watch out for:
Los Angeles Lakers:
Kyle Kuzma – The young superstar will be the focal point in the offensive area for Lakers as LeBron James is out injured. The 23-year-old may not be scoring as some of the young superstars this season, but he remains an integral part of the Lakers roster. At 23, he is still a work in progress. He is dropping 18.1 points per game, while his average in the last 1o games is 21.1 points per game.
Brandon Ingram – Lakers’ bad phase coincided with his injury and rounded off to some extent when the came back. The 21-year-old is a star for the future but he is still racking up good numbers.

Oklahoma City Thunder:
Russell Westbrook – He showed what he is capable of when he is in the mood. In the absence of Paul George, his monster best erupted into life and the 2017 NBA MVP ended up dropping 40 points in the match. The 29-year-old is averaging 21 points per game but his contribution is incredible as he remains the only player to average triple-double this season.
Paul George – He is back and boy, how good he has been and even the injuries couldn’t foil his incredible form this season. The former Indiana Pacers star is racking up more than 25 points per game this season.
