MIL vs MEM Dream11: With NBA’s midseason at full flow, we have seen the radar shift for different teams and it has caused certain fluctuations in the way some players have performed. However, sometimes a decreased team win percentage also means an increased burden on the key players. This increased burden can cause burnout and also injuries in long term, however other times, it can also mean MVP-like performances. But with the COVID-19 threat and injuries now also showing their biting nature, we can see a lot of players go missing from the action. What does it imply? It implies that there are lineup shuffles and the team depth is going to be tested. Now, let us come to this game between the Milwaukee Bucks and Memphis Grizzlies.

Milwaukee has 27 wins and 19 losses but their January win-loss column has not been impressive for a defending champion. The Bucks have lost six of the last eight games and some of these losses have been against below-50% win teams indicating the team’s struggles. Jrue Holiday has been missing from the fray and that has hurt the team balance. Bucks have a strong frontline but their defense and offense both have not been like last season.

On the other hand, the Grizzlies are just stream-rolling teams, not caring about if they are elite or below-par. Memphis has been on two big streaks, and they have won 12 games and lost just 1 of their last 13 games. However, in this game, the team will be without second-highest PPG scorer Desmond Bane and off-the-bench wing Kyle Anderson. Memphis still has shown that they can pull through even with their major pieces out.

NBA Projections, Stats & Analysis

Bucks: Are they going to defend the title?
Jrue Holiday(questionable) has been a huge presence for the team and it is clear that it was his off-season signing that made the Bucks a champion after they had not found a key at the one-guard position. See, the thing is that since Lopez has been hurt and Jrue Holiday has been down, there has been a major change. While Holiday is a terrific perimeter defender and Brook Lopez acts as a more than helpful last-line-of-defense, helping out his teammates on the defensive end. The Bucks’ frontline is one of the best if not the best. Giannis-Middleton-Portis form a superb rebounding and scoring trio. Antetokounmpo opens up lanes for his teammates through his superb driving and low-post skills while Middleton is an all-around presence with Portis being a terrific rebounder and scorer as well. However, the guards have been shooting poorly with Donte troubled due to his long absence while Matthews, Hill, and Nwora have not been high-yielding again. Can the Bucks restructure their season once Holiday returns? Are they looking like title contenders right now?

Grizzlies: They have shown their depth
With Bane out, the team loses a 20+ points scorer who can also hit big-time shots while playing at a high-level throughout the game on the scoring end. Dillon Brooks, the wing has been down due to injury too and so it means the Memphis Grizzlies’ bench depth can be tested. One thing is for sure, that the coaching system knows how to adjust when it comes to injuries and the players have stepped up their games. The team won eight in a row earlier when Morant went down, however, wouldn’t Bane’s absence hurt more with Brooks out too. But with Morant-Willaims-Jones-Melton-Clarke-Jackson-Adams-Konchar-Tillman, the team has plenty of shooters, rebounders, divers to the rim and as many as four players who can score 15 or more on a regular basis. How will the Grizzlies respond with Bane being out?

NBA Scores, Fantasy Basketball Top Picks

Giannis Antetokounmpo(MIL)
Points: 27
Rebounds: 06
Assists: 06
Steals: 01
Blocks: 01
Antetokounmpo has been one of the most imposing Forwards whose game is a hybrid of a wing, big Forward, and Center. He has been in the “MVP” conversations and he has been scoring 25+ regularly, grabbing 10+ rebounds, and dishing 5+ assists during most games.
Expected Fantasy Points Range: 45-63
Giannis Antetokounmpo MIL vs MEM Dream11

Ja Morant(MEM)
Points: 25
Rebounds: 04
Assists: 03
Steals: 01
Ja has been in superb form scoring-wise and with the team achieving more balance now, his ranges have been down but now with Bane out, he may have to raise it again. I believe Morant will figure in the 26-30 points and 6-9 assists range now. Morant can be selected as a Star/Pro Player in the Dream 11 NBA Fantasy scenario.
Expected Fantasy Points Range: 36-50

Khris Middleton(MIL)
Points: 34
Rebounds: 07
Assists: 04
Blocks: 02
Steals: 02

Khris has been an all-around wing for the Bucks and can help the scoring to get going in bunches, playing at a high clip during most games. Middleton has been scoring 25+ points, grabbing 5+ rebounds, and 4 or more assists on a regular basis.
Expected Fantasy Points Range: 40-53

Jaren Jackson Jr.(MEM)
Points: 14
Rebounds: 05
Assists: 00
Blocks: 05
Jaren has been improving constantly and if we look beyond the statistics, we can see how his impact has been huge on both ends. Jackson Jr. has been scoring in the 14-23 points range, grabbing 5-10 rebounds, and blocking 2-5 shots a game regularly.
Expected Fantasy Points Range: 29-39

Bobby Portis(MIL)
Points: 13
Rebounds: 13
Assists: 00
Steals: 01
Blocks: 01
Bobby at the Center position has done a brilliant job with Brook Lopez out of the mix, and his scoring and rebounding are both valuable. The Center is scoring 10+ points and grabbing 10+ rebounds on a regular basis.
Expected Fantasy Points Range: 30-40

Steven Adams(MEM)
Points: 02
Rebounds: 10
Assists: 06
Steals: 02
Blocks: 01

Adams has been the leading rebounder for the Memphis outfit and he can also act as a playmaker and a major defender. He usually grabs 10-14 rebounds per game and scores 6-7 points a game.
Expected Fantasy Points Range: 26-36

MIL vs MEM DREAM11 LINEUP BALANCERS

  • Brandon Clarke(MEM) had 15 points, 7 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals in the last game. Clarke has been a terrific presence off the bench and scoring at a high rate. He has figured in the 14-15 points and grabbed 6-8 rebounds a game regularly.
  • Grayson Allen(MIL) had 9 points, 2 rebounds, 4 assists, 1 steal in the last game. Grayson is the knockdown shooter from the perimeter and he has scored 15 or more in three of the last five games.
  • Pat Connaughton(MIL) had 14 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal in the last game. Pat has been scoring a bit lower but the off-guard showed better shooting performance in the last game and a 9-14 range has been a norm throughout the season.
  • Tyus Jones(MEM) had 11 points, 8 assists, 1 rebound, 1 steal in the last game. Tyus may see an increase in minutes and I will not be surprised if he replicates such stats again.
  • Rodney Hood(MIL) had 6 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist in the last game. The guard has been a bit inconsistent recently but only plays in case of injuries.
  • De’Anthony Melton(MEM) had 10 points, 4 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals in the last contest. Melton has been struggling in terms of shooting but can see an uptick in minutes with Bane out.
  • John Konchar(MEM) had 9 points, 5 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 steals in the last contest. Konchar can be a major factor with Bane out and I think he can score in 12-16 points and pull down 5-8 rebounds with increased minutes.
  • Donte DiVincenzo(MIL) had 9 points, 2 rebounds, 3 assists in the last game. Donte is still getting his conditioning back after a lengthy absence and well when he was healthier, he was scoring in the 8-13 points range and grabbing 5-9 rebounds per game.
  • George Hill(MIL) had 5 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists in the last game. George has been a constant presence at the one guard position for the Bucks. Hill has been scoring in the 5-8 points on a regular basis.
