ORL vs TOR Dream11 MATCH PREVIEW:

Toronto Raptors will be looking for their first win in the playoffs as they host Orlando Magic in the 2nd game of the series at Scotiabank Arena, in Downtown Toronto, Ontario, Canada, on Friday morning (IST).

Many predicted this would be one of the straightforward series of the first round. A 4-0 prophecy for the Toronto Raptors was the most common prediction.

But that scoreline went out of the window even in the very first game as Magic waved their wand at Scotiabank Arena, winning the match 101-104. As much as they outscored their opponents, their defence was the main reason why Raptors could muster only 101 points in the match.

We all know why Raptors went after Kawhi Leonard last summer. He is a proven winner and rare breed of players with a two-way approach on the court. Toronto have been trying to exorcise the playoff ghost for far too long, and Leonard was deemed as the very player to take this franchise towards the unchartered territories.

So in a sense, that loss was the real disappointment for the team. Even with Leonard on the team, this team started the post-season like so many teams before them – with a defeat.

After the loss, Raptors are now 2-14 in game one all-time, including 1-8 in home matches. In fact, their last season’s game 1 win over Washington Wizards snapped a 10 successive game 1 defeats.

Kyle Lowry, who is the 2nd highest scorer in the team, suffered the most from the first game syndrome, scoring zero points on 0-for-7 shooting.

Raptors had their chances though. They led 76-75 going into the fourth quarter and led by as many as six points midway in the fourth quarter.

Magic turned the corner behind a 10-2 run, but Leonard’s jumper gave Raptors a two-point lead with just one minute left in the clock.

But D.J. Augustin scored five points in the dying minutes. First, a jump shot which tied the game, and then a three-pointer to seal the game.

Magic don’t need to change very much. They need to emulate their first game performance.

Regular Season Record-
Toronto Raptors:
W-26, L-32
Orlando Magic:
W-27, L-29

Players to watch out for:

Toronto Raptors:
Kawhi Leonard –
Scored 25 points in Game-1 against Orlando Magic. It was a decent return but it was nowhere his A game. The former San Antonio Spurs star had a couple of miscues in the defensive department, costing his team dearly.
But Leonard is a class apart than most of his peers, and he will come good. There’s no doubt about that.

Pascal Siakam – He has averaged 17 points per game in the regular season, his career-best by some stretch. The 25-year-old scored 24 points in the last game against Orlando Magic.

Orlando Magic:
Nikola Vucevic –
The only player to average in the 20s for Orlando Magic this season. Magic were an outsider for the playoffs, but Vucevic’s incredible scoring form at the backend of the regular season propelled the team into the post-season. Bad news for Raptors, Magic won the game-1 despite him hitting a top-form.
