Tyrese Maxey dapping PHI vs TOR Dream11

PHI vs TOR Dream11: Hello NBA fans! How has been the month for you so far! Surely, we are seeing a lot of mixed results, and once again the injury bug as always has bitten many teams. With the Play-in tournament just three weeks away, oh boy, are we going to see some desperate dashes to finish the season. This is a great opportunity for those on the fringes to still crack open a Play-in tournament slot but in the East, it has become rather impossible for the 11-15 ranked teams to push for the Play-in contention. However, for the two teams here in the Philadelphia 76ers and the Toronto Raptors, there are bigger concerns.

The 76ers revamped their roster after the Ben Simmons fallout and who did they bring? James Harden. Someone who has given the Point Guard position an unthinkable boost, and alongside Embiid he forms a strong one-two punch that will be a force down the line. So, can the 76ers fend off the deep East during the Playoffs?

On other hand, the Toronto Raptors have hyped up the fanbase with their wonderful play but shockingly, they remain a so-so squad at home despite their overarching success away from home. As we go towards the Playoffs, the Raptors still have a chance of seizing the sixth spot, can they do it and avoid the Play-in tournament?

NBA Projections, Stats & Analysis

The 76ers toppled a tough Dallas squad in the last game, winning 111:101 behind Embiid’s 32 points and Harden’s 12 assists night

The 76ers are in the second spot right now but the Bucks are just below them and this is a tight race all the way from the second to fifth seed at the moment. The Celtics are also not far away from the 76ers and are playing a fantastic brand of basketball but the Bulls have rather fallen off lately. So, yes, the defending champions Bucks are the closest to the 76ers, and this fight between Celtics, 76ers, and Bucks can go down the wire.

The team is loaded with talent and when you pair up two MVP-level players in Embiid and Harden, it is a match made in heaven as Harden can go on dominating the ball while Embiid can play significantly off the ball. With these consistent 20+ points scorers and all-around threats, Maxey and Harris play the supporting role as the two-way players whereas Thybulle and Green slate in as defensive presences. Georges Niang has done a great job as a perimeter shooter off the bench but the bench overall doesn’t bring in much production. There is indeed a lack of depth for the 76ers.

The Raptors continued their sub-par play at home and lost 123:128 to the struggling Lakers despite a 31 points performance by rookie Scottie Barnes

The loss to the Lakers must hurt the Raptors because it set them a little back in terms of catching up to the Cavs, a team that has now won two in a row. Despite that, they can still catch up to the sixth spot and the sixth spot is crucial because it means you straight away go to the Playoffs first Round instead of having to go through the Play-in tournament. One huge concern has been the team’s lack of success at home, where they are just 1 game above the 50% win mark, while away from home, they have won seven games above the 50% win mark.

One huge positive recently has been the elevated scoring of Scottie Barnes who is developing into a terrific all-around wing. Pascal Siakam as the second Forward also brings all-around chops and when you have two versatile Forwards, it surely makes from a strong frontline. The guard tandem of Gary Trent and Fred Van Vleet is one of the best hustling and defensive backcourts in the league whereas they can also score in bunches more often than not. Precious Achiuwa has brought a lot of energy and production off the bench and that has been a great signing this offseason. But even then, the team needs OG Anunoby who provides more balance to the squad.
