Los Angeles Lakers will look to bounce back from their 104-113 defeat to the defending champions Toronto Raptors when they hit the road to play Phoenix Suns for a matchup in the NBA 2019-20 regular season.
The Phoenix Suns have been the surprise package of the season so far. They are being led by their superstar guard Devin Booker who is averaging a team-high 25.8 points per game on a career-best 53.2 percent from the field. As a team, the Suns are the 5th best offensive team in NBA across both the conferences, as they average 116.8 points per game in the early going. It’s a return that nobody could have predicted at the start of the current season.
Los Angeles Lakers, meanwhile, blew away their 2nd half lead against the shorthanded Toronto Raptors as the champions clawed their way back into the game to win 104-113 at Staples Center. LeBron James had a rather quiet outing for his super-high standards, while Anthony Davis was also a tad short than his usual self. This was Lakers’ first defeat in eight games and first since the opening game. The defeat shows that no team is perfect but the Lakers are still a new unit and are improving with each passing game.

LeBron James: For a player who will turn 35 in a month, the numbers are phenomenal, to say the least. He is averaging 24.6 points per game and is leading the assists chart in the NBA.
Anthony Davis: He is leading the scoring chart for Lakers this season. He is a monster on the court. He dominates both ends of the court. Davis is averaging 26.6 points per game.
Devin Booker: Phoenix Suns’ prized-asset is playing like a future Hall of Famer. The 23-year-old guard is averaging 25.8 points per game this season.
Players who could make a huge impact:
Kelly Oubre Jr.
DeAndre Ayton is serving a suspension for violating the NBA’s anti-drug policy with a positive test for a diuretic. The 21-year-old was handed a 25-game ban by the NBA. Meanwhile, Ty Jerome will be missing the game for the Suns with an ankle injury. No other injury concern or suspension to contend with for the Suns.
Raptors: DeMarcus Cousins remains out for the Lakers. The former Golden State Warriors is recovering from an ankle injury he suffered in last season’s NBA finals against the eventual champions Toronto Raptors.
Rajon Rondo is deep into his rehabilitation as he targets his first game for the Lakers this season. That said, the 33-year-old will be monitored before the game and will play only if he passes the fitness test.
