PHX vs TOR Dream11: When I started writing about the NBA, my articles were about 600-800 words but now even a 1400+ words article looks short on information after writing for around more than 15 months now. But that is how it is, there is so much to cover, the NBA business model is genius at generating storylines that capture the attention of various fans. With the expanded fanbase and a desire to only grow the game, the league has done well in terms of garnering millions of viewers every year. So, yes, let us examine the dynamics of the game between the Suns and the Raptors.

The Suns have been the winningest team in the league and they continue to exert a bunch of pressure on the rest of the league to catch up. They are most likely to finish at the top of the league because they have been getting it done even without CP-3, their leading playmaker, and the team depth has been in full display recently.

On the other hand, the Toronto Raptors have showcased tremendous improvements compared to last season and they are a superb two-way team. Although the bench depth is questionable, the team has been getting it done on a regular basis. So, how will they respond from here on as the postseason closes in?

NBA Projections, Stats & Analysis

Trends and match-ups

Raptors have struggled without OG: The Raptors have struggled as of late and the team has been unable to notch even 35% of the wins when OG Anunoby has been out. The absence of OG puts more pressure on the defensive end and a lack of any substantial wing or off-guard has been hurting the team big-time. So, yes, this puts more pressure on Fred, Gary, Siakam, and Barnes to put together scintillating performances and these four continue to heavy minutes. The Raptors have been having a great season despite the lack of depth because they were on fire around late January and they figured out a way to beat even the elite teams.

Suns just keep winning: The Suns don’t care if you are an elite team or mid-level or bottom feeders, they bring their A-game. They beat the East’s best Heat in the last game and they continue to get the job done without Chris Paul. They are primed to finish at the top of the league and there is no doubt that they will be seen as the championship favorites. While the Warriors and Grizzlies are deep, the Suns are coming fresh off a Finals run and once Chris Paul returns, you have to admit that it will be tough for even elite squads to fend off this soaring unit. Other than that, the Suns also have done a great job of developing their young talent Mikal Bridges, Deandre Ayton, and Cameron Johnson.

Match-ups Match-up-wise, the Raptors will have to cope up with Booker on the offensive end and he has been stringing together another brilliant season. The one-guard depth has been deadly with Cameron Payne filling in well for Chris Paul. The two guards for the Raptors Fred and Gary are amazing two-way players and surely, they can give the Suns a load of trouble. An equally exciting match-up is the Forward one, where Scottie Barnes and Pascal Siakam will go up against Crowder and Bridges, surely an enticing match-up as all these players are terrific two-way players. In terms of the bench, the Suns have been significantly weakened with Johnson out but Shamet and Holiday have done their bits. Meanwhile, the Raptors may have a better frontline depth with Boucher, Achiuwa, and Young. Let us see how this one cooks!
