Jordan Clarkson dribbling UTA vs SAC Dream11

UTA vs SAC Dream11: NBA heads over to the postseason with each day and as we head closer to the Playoffs, we are seeing some desperate dashes from multiple teams. As the Playoffs will come near, we will also find out which squads have a better chance of making the top-six rankings to earn a bye till the Playoffs and which ones will hover in the Play-in tournament and at the periphery of the first round of the Playoffs. And how about the Sacramento Kings, a squad that is moving far away from the Play-in zone, and as they clash against the Utah Jazz, a lot is at stake for the team.

The Utah Jazz has been doing a more than a decent job this season but it is not like the last season when they finished with the best record in the league. The team comes into this game after a heart-breaking 102-104 loss versus the Spurs. And as they meet another below 50% win squad, a back-to-back loss can open the way for the Mavs and the Nuggets strike closer to the fourth spot.

The Kings are not striking much this season. They are on a three-game losing streak and they keep on losing their ground on a regular basis. Sacramento has been performing a poor job on the defensive end and they get behind by too many early in the game. With the Play-in window closing in on them, they can’t afford such losing streaks anymore.

NBA Projections, Stats & Analysis

Jazz: How will the season shape up?
The Jazz has been lagging behind the elite teams of the West in the form of Grizzlies, Warriors, and the Suns. The team had a tough January and lost around 80% of the games during that period. And even recently, the team has lost some games against below 50% win teams, which wasn’t the case earlier on in the season. With the Mavericks and Nuggets just trailing behind, the Jazz will need to win around 60% of the games at least. There is a high chance that the Jazz falls in the fifth or sixth place but I don’t see them falling to the seventh spot at any rate. I believe the Jazz will most likely finish in the top-five and push the first-round team to the limit.

Why do I say so? I believe last season the pressure of going deep as the top-ranked team got to the Jazz and it showed in the West Semis last season. This season they have had some troubles but the core has a lot of promise. There is some terrific balance with Donovan slipping in 25+ points, Bogdanovic 15+ points, Conley 10+ points, Clarkson 15+ points, Gobert 12+ points, and O’Neale 5+ but the team defense along with rebounding and defense of Gobert will be the key in the Playoffs. So, can the Jazz muster up something special going forward? One thing is for sure, Jazz can be a tough one to deal with multiple shot creators at their disposal.

Kings: Is this Franchise cursed?
I am sorry to use such a charged headline here but the Kings can’t catch a break. They haven’t made the Playoffs for more than 15 years now and it is like each season, it seems like they are in for another losing one. They have gone on multiple losing streaks and they continue to suffer blowout losses. It felt things will change when the team addressed the gap at the frontline and brought in Domantas Sabonis but no, things have still looked grim. Do remember that the Kings gave away their developing guard in Tyrese Haliburton to make immediate gains. But these gains have not followed yet. Is the intense shuffling of the lineup causing it?

It seems like coach Alvin Gentry hasn’t figured out a way to involve Donte DiVincenzo, Justin Holiday, and Davion Mitchell in different spheres. They have trouble figuring out the defensive lineups that can hold the ground and minutes are inconsistent. Apart from that, Fox has been a force as the one-guard, Harrison Barnes has regained his consistency while Sabonis has been racking up boards and doing a great job as the second playmaker. The problem is that the other players will need to now raise their games because it is not just the defense but the offense can also take a hit more often than not. So, how will the team figure out the combinations?
