NOP VS HOU NBA Regular Season Dream11 Basketball Prediction Fantasy Team News

Houston Rockets vs New Orleans Pelicans

NBA Regular Season

NOP VS HOU MATCH PREVIEW:

Houston Rockets host New Orleans Pelicans in NBA action on Sunday (IST) at Toyota Center, Houston, Texas.

Rockets are 3rd in the Western Conference, four games better than the reigning NBA Champions Golden State Warriors. Considering only 10 games remain in the regular season, the Dubs, most probably, would end up at 2nd behind Rockets.

A big step-up for the Texas team from the last season considering they finished at 3rd and a massive 12 games worse off than the Warriors in 2016-17 NBA season. So the Clutch City franchise are definitely one of the favorites for the ultimate glory this season.

Meanwhile, New Orleans Pelicans are sitting at 5th in the Western Conference. But only two wins better than Utah Jazz who have occupied the last playoff spot, heading into this match.

So the job is still not finished and the Pelicans are still in danger of slipping out of the playoff spots if things start getting nastier.

But! But!-

New Orleans Pelicans possess a player who is going toe to toe with Houston Rockets’ own talisman James Harden for the coveted NBA MVP award, and his name is Anthony Davis.

So we are not expecting, even in our wildest dreams, Pelicans to drop out of playoff spots. But having said that, they still need few wins to confirm their place in the next round of NBA.

Form of the Team-

Houston Rockets

If there is one team that is showing no signs of complacency, despite tearing the NBA apart this season, that team has to be Houston Rockets.

They have won a massive 24 games out of the last 25 they played. While heading into this match, Rockets won their last seven and will be aiming for their 8th consecutive victory against Pelicans.

Their only loss in that imperious run came against another surprise package, Toronto Raptors. Other than that, Rockets have bullied every other team including Cleveland Cavaliers and San Antonio Spurs.

As a team, Rockets have lost just six homes games this season. They are also averaging 113.5 points per game, putting them at 2nd in that regard. While they are shipping out rebounds and assists at 43.5 and 21.7 per game respectively.

James Harden is Rockets’ and NBA’s best player this season. The 28-year-old point-guard is averaging  31.0 points and 8.7 assists per game this season. A sure-shot for MVP award!

New Orleans Pelicans-

The visitors, on the other hand, have won their last four games and are gunning for a fifth straight victory against Rockets in this match.

As a team, they are averaging 111.7 points per game, and their assists of 26.5 per game is 2nd to only Golden State Warriors.

Pelican’s rise this season can be associated with the brilliance of Anthony Davis. He is the 2nd best player in NBA this season as he is averaging 28.2 points per game, behind only Harden.

A mouthwatering clash between two of the best players at Toyota Center-
