Team India

BCCI has announced the Team India squad for one-off Test against Afghanistan in June, and Team India’s tour of England and Ireland in July.

The selectors have rewarded Ambati Rayudu for his splendid performance in the IPL. The 32-year-old batsman is the current orange cap holder of the IPL, having amassed 423 runs in 10 innings. Rayudu has an impressive batting average of 50+ after 34 ODIs, including two hundreds.

KL Rahul, who is having one of the best seasons in IPL, also makes his way back to Team India’s ODI squad. The other new inclusion is 27-year-old Punjab speedster Siddarth Kaul, who has been included in both the ODI and T20I squads.

However, BCCI selection committee has axed Ajinkya Rahane from ODI team. Earlier this year in South Africa, the team management entrusted Rahane with the No. 4 position. Rahane, batting at no.4 in South Africa, had scored a match-winning 86-ball 79 in the second ODI.
