Shubman Gill made an instant impression with tremendous Under 19 success. The same year, he made his IPL debut in the 2018 edition for Kolkata Knight Riders who brought him for a whopping INR 1.8 Cr.
The young batsman from Punjab, his tons and tons of runs in domestic cricket, fast tracked him. He came to deputise in the 2018 ICC U19 World Cup in the No 3 position and he was shot to fame when the tournament was over. Not only India won the 2018 ICC U19 World Cup for a recorded fourth time but also Gill’s 418 runs at an average of 104.50 didn’t go unnoticed. As he was always gifted with the bat, he won two consecutive BCCI awards for his runs scoring abilities. He has plenty of centuries and double centuries pinned to his name and is hoping for a great senior team debut.
Shubman Gill’s father also wanted to be a cricketer but he couldn’t.
