Barry McCarthy made his mark in the national side on the back of breathtaking shows at domestic level. Barry’s distinguished ability was identified by Ben Stokes who persuaded his club Durham to sign him up.

In June 2016, the 29 year old pacer got a true recognition of his talent when he was selected in Ireland’s limited overs’ team against Sri Lanka. His first debut was quite successful for he pocketed two wickets in his maiden outing. McCarthy also proved to be an asset for his captain during the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.
Having showcased an exclusive performance he was shown an entrywayby the selectors in 2019 with his entry in the Ireland crew mid-way through the 2020 World Cup Qualifiers in UAE. His uncanny capacity to take wickets has made him a valuable resource for his public group.
