George Garton is an English professional cricketer. In the county circuit, he represents the Sussex cricket club. Sussex boasts several other English pacers, including Chris Jordan, Ollie Robinson, Jofra Archer, and Reece Topley. Garton bats left-handed and bowls left-arm medium fast. He was part of the English U19 squad for the 2016 U19 cricket World Cup. He made his first-class debut versus Leeds/Bradford MCC University in April 2016.
Still in the nascent stages of his first-class career, Garton made his Three Lions debut in a 50-over Tri-series versus Pakistan A and Sri Lanka A. Due to England’s injury problems, he was called up to the national squad as a cover for Jake Ball ahead of the first Ashes Test in 2017-18. However, he did not feature in the series. After a break of four years, he was again called up for national duty for the ODI series against Sri Lanka in June 2021.

Geroge Garton has joined Royal Challengers Bangalore for phase 2 of IPL 2021. He recently played a key role in Southern Brave’s triumph in the Mens’ Hundred.
A host of stars have withdrawn from the IPL due to various reasons. Finn Allen and Scott Kuggeleijn of New Zealand remain with the national team in Bangladesh, while Adam Zampa, Daniel Sams, and Kane Richardson have withdrawn from the tournament’s second leg. Garton signed as a replacement for Richardson. He joins Sri Lankans Wanindu Hasaranga and Dushmanta Chameera as well as Tim David of Singapore.
