Motie played for national team in 2014 Under 19 World Cup and bagged 6 wickets in 6 matches. His domestic career for Guyana started in 2015. He achieved success early in his career. But his best performance came in the Super 50 Cup 2019, where he emerged as the leading wicket taker. In December 2021, he made his T20I debut against Pakistan.
The left arm spinner’s stats are impressive, especially in the red ball format. In first class format, Gudakesh has scalped 100 wickets in 29 matches. While he has scalped 27 wickets and 8 dismissals in the T20 format.
