Lewis Gregory is an invaluable asset for Somerset’s County cricket club, a fast-bowling all-rounder who made his international debut in November 2019. Gregory is known to swing the ball both ways and can be a lethal figure on surfaces that offer some movement.
On the batting front, he bats at lower down the order and has the ability to launch big hits at will. He made his senior cricket debut in 2010 while representing Somerset XI against a touring Pakistan side.
The English all-rounder represented his youth level at Devon County Cricket Club. He rose through the ranks via age-group cricket. Gregory made his List-A debut for Somerset against a touring Pakistan side in 2010. He picked 4 wickets in that game but got out for a duck in the second innings. He made his under-19 debut for England against Bangladesh.
In 2015, he received his maiden international call-up for the one-off ODI against Ireland. Unfortunately, he couldn’t make it to the playing XI.
On November 1, 2019, he made his debut T20 international debut against New Zealand. Though, he didn’t bat or bowl in that game. In the second match of the series, he took a wicket on the very first ball of his T20 international career, thereby becoming the second bowler for England to do so.
Ahead of the ODI series against Pakistan, Lewis Gregory has been selected in England’s squad after the original squad was forced to withdraw because of Covid-19 positive tests.
Lewis Gregory is currently 29-year-old. He was born on 24th May 1992 at Plymouth in England.
Lewis Gregory tied the knot with Issy Gregory in the year 2011. It has been 10 years since the couple has been together. On 18th November 2020, Lewis shared a picture with her wife on Instagram to celebrate 9 years of togetherness.
Ahead of the 2020 PSL, Peshawar Zalmi bought the services of Lewis Gregory. He picked as many as 4 wickets in his very first game with Lahore Qalandars. However, he went wicketless for the rest of the season. Gregory played 4 games that season and picked 4 wickets with the ball.
