Mayanti Langer Biography

Mayanti Langer was born on 8 February 1985 in New Delhi, India. She is the daughter of retired army officer Lt. Gen. Sanjiv Langer, who worked with the UN, and Preminda Langer. Mayanti completed her education at the Hindu College, University of Delhi. She has completed BA Honors. Since her childhood, she was inclined toward sports. She started her professional career with the show ‘Football Cafe’ on Zee Sports.

Mayanti Langer is married to former Indian cricketer Stuart Binny. Just like his father Roger Binny, Stuart Binny has also been a part of the Indian national cricket team. The duo tied the knot in 2012 after being in a relationship for over two years or so. Their first child, a baby boy, was also born in September 2020.

Professional Career

Mayanti always had an interest in football, which grew during her childhood days that she spent in the USA. She became a guest anchor for a broadcast of FIFA beach football. With the success of the same, she was rewarded with her first spot as host and associate producer for ‘Football Café’ on Zee Sports. She then went on to work for various football shows on Zee Network commentating, taking interviews during pre-match, half-time, and post-match shows. She also worked as an anchor on Zee Sports for the Indian Cricket League.

Mayanti was host in the 2010 FIFA World Cup broadcast in India on ESPN. She headed a team of expert panelists for the show. She also went on to host the Commonwealth Games the same year, held in Delhi. Mayanti has also hosted the 2014 Indian Super League, 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup, and 2011 Cricket World Cup and has been a part of the Indian Premier League over the years as well.
