Nuwanidu is currently unmarried. He appears close to his family and regularly posts pictures on his instagram handle. He is the younger brother of speedster Vishwa Fernando who plies his trade in the Sri Lankan domestic circuit.

Nuwanidu Fernando Career

Born in Colombo on October 13, 1999, Nuwanidu made his professional debut for Panadura Sports Club during the 2016–17 Premier League Tournament. He was included in Sri Lanka’s squad for the 2018 Under-19 Cricket World Cup in December 2017. He was also included in Dambulla’s roster for the 2018 SLC T20 League. On February 18, 2019, he finally made his SLC Twenty20 Tournament debut for Badureliya Sports Club.

Nuwanidu was chosen by the Jaffna Stallions of the Lanka Premier League in October 2020. In the 2021 edition, he was drafted to play for the Colombo Stars. He was a member of Sri Lanka Cricket’s Emerging Team for their tour of England in April 2022. On May 29, 2022, Nuwanidu scored his first T20 century against Gloucestershire. He was included in Sri Lanka’s T20I team for their series against Australia the following month, but missed out on a maiden international cap.
