Dravid represented Karnataka in the Indian domestic circuit. He earned his first ODI cap on 3 April 1996 versus Sri Lanka and made his Test debut against England two months later. He also captained the Indian team for two years, leading them in 25 tests and 79 ODIs. As a batsman, he was at his peak during 2002-06.
