• Rahul Dravid was known as Mr. Dependable owing to the two greatest partnerships in ODI cricket. His partnership of 318 runs with Sourav Ganguly and his 331 runs partnership with Sachin Tendulkar still remains a world record
• Under his captaincy India saw a growth in the percentage of high runs scoring games
• He has scored five double centuries and each one of them was bigger than the previous one. He made 200, 217, 222, 233, 270.
• He was also named in the Wisden Cricketers of the year in 2000
• Rahul Dravid is the second Indian batsman after Sachin Tendulkar to score 10000 runs in both ODIs and tests
• Rahul Dravid is also the first non-Australian to deliver Bradman Oration in Canberra
• He took 210 catches in his international career and he is the first player other than a wicket keeper to have taken so many catches
• Rahul Dravid is the only cricketer to have scored a ton against all the Test playing teams

• Rahul Dravid was fined by ICC during an ODI against Zimbabwe in 2004 for ball tampering. He had to pay half of his match fee for it.

• Rahul Dravid started playing cricket when he was 12 years old and also scored a ton for his school team
• His family settled in Karnataka but he hails from Marathi family and his mother tongue is also Marathi
• Rahul Dravid got his nickname, “Jammy” because his father used to work in a Jam factory
• One of the surprising things about Rahul Dravid was that he was named the Sexiest Sports Personality in India in an online survey in the year 2004-2005
