Ryan Burl is a multi-talented Zimbabwe star who has donned the colours of national side since 2017. Ryan made his debut for the national side in ODIs in 2017 and then in Test cricket on Boxing Day against South Africa and is since has been a major cop for Zimbabwe.

He came into limelight when he posted tweet, where he was in search for a sponsor. Burl would often glue his boots after every series, but Puma came into aid and helped him with a sponsorship deal.

Career

Ryan started his cricketing career after he had explored multiple sports activities like squash and field hockey. The talented player is one of the rare players on the international sight, to have played two U-19 World Cups, first in 2012 and then in 2014.

Burl was the 132nd player to represent Zimbabwe in ODIs in 2017. The talented left-handed batter came through the ranks of Peterhouse Boys, which is also credited to have produced several international cricketers.

2017 was the breakthrough year for the talented Burl when he scored a hundred and two fifties against Afghanistan. The Zimbabwe A side tour was the foundation stone for him as he would later make his debut for the national team.

One of the finest moments of Burl’s cricketing career came in September 2019, when he scored a record 30 runs in one over. This is a record for any Zimbabwe batter as he battered Shakib Al Hasan in the first of the tri-nations series match.  Burl was part of the Zimbabwe side that reached the T20 World Cup having won the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup Qualifier 2022.
