Jonty Rhodes names favorite fielders; two Indians in the list

Former South African player Jonty Rhodes is regarded as one of the best fielders to have ever played the game. During the 1990s, he took fielding at the international cricket to a different level. His athleticism and fielding skills left everyone who watched him play in awe. He was a pretty good batsman as well but he is known more for his fielding skills. Since his retirement in 2003, Rhodes has been serving as coaches for the various team across the globe.

Raina and Jadeja make it to Jonty Rhodes’ list

Recently, the 50-year old was asked on Twitter who is his favourite fielder in the world. Jonty Rhodes had a hard time giving a proper answer as he named as many as seven cricketers as his favourite fielder. Among the seven, Suresh Raina and Ravindra Jadeja were the only two Indian players who found a place in the Jonty’s favourite list. Jonty has earlier praised Jadeja and Raina for their fielding skills on several platforms. Ravindra Jadeja is currently playing for India against New Zealand is widely credited as one of the best fielders at the international level right now.

Rhodes also named his former Proteas teammate Herschelle Gibbs, former Australian captain Ricky Ponting and former South African skipper AB de Villiers. Rhodes also picked up the name of current players such as West Indian skipper Keiron Pollard and New Zealand opener Martin Guptill.

Rhodes to work for KXIP as the fielding coach at the IPL 2020

Jonty Rhodes has been involved with the Indian Premier League for a long time. He was the fielding coach of Mumbai Indians for several seasons but now for the IPL 2020, Kings XI Punjab has roped in Rhodes to be their fielding coach. Rhodes has been served in this position for the South African national side.
