Tom Curran was born on 12 March 1995. He is a South Africa-born English cricket who represents England in Tests and limited overs format. He represents Surrey in English domestic cricket and he plays for Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL. He is a right-arm fast medium bowler who bats right-handed.
He was bestowed with the Cricket Writers’ Club Young Cricketer of the Year award for his stand out performances in 2015. He played for KwaZulu-Natal Inland at U-15 level, U-17 level and U-19 level. His immense potential then got noticed by former Surrey skipper Ian Grieg and he invited him to play for the Surrey second XI in 2012. He made his senior debut for Surrey in a List A match against Essex in 2013 and his First-class debut against Cambridge University. He was roped in by the Cape Town Knight Riders squad for the first season of the T20 Global league. In 2018, he was named in the squad of Kolkata Knight Riders in 2018.
