Who won today’s IPL match?: Punjab Kings (PBKS) locked horns with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the match 38th of Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. It was a high-scoring thriller that made many go bonkers. While it was Shikhar Dhawan who shined for his side, Ambati Rayudu stole the limelight in the second innings. But in the, it was the Mayank Agarwal-led side who had a last laugh and registered their fourth win of the season.
Invited to bat first, PBKS lost skipper Mayank Agarwal early for just 18 runs. However after, that Shikhar Dhawan carried his bat and scored masterful 88* runs. He was well complimented by Bhanuka Rajapksa (44) and a finish by Liam Livingstone (17) in the end helped PBKS post a big total of 187 runs on the board. For CSK, Dwayne Bravo was the pick of the bowlers and returned with the figures of 2/42.

It got as worse as it could for CSK as chasing the target they found themselves tumbling at 40/4 at 7 overs. Ruturaj Gaikwad held one end and scored 30 runs. Ambati Rayudu took charge to PBKS bowlers and scored his first half-century of the season. He took his team close to the target by scoring 78 runs but fell to Kagiso Rabada in 18th over. With 35 runs needed off the last two years, Arshdeep Singh bowled a brilliant over against MS Dhoni and Jadeja as he conceded only 8 runs. The keeper-batsman then put pressure on PBKS by smashing six on the first ball of last over but Rishi Dhawan came back and and removed him on the third ball for 12 runs and then closed the game for his side to win the match by 11 runs.
Punjab Kings opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan was awarded Man of the Match in today’s encounter against Chennai Super Kings in Mumbai. The southpaw batted throughout the entire innings and helped his side post a mammoth total of 187 runs on the board. His knock was laced with 9 fours and 2 maximums. He also stitched crucial partnerships with Mayank Agarwal and Bhanaunka Rajapaksa.
