Ravindra Jadeja IND vs WI 1st ODI: In a massive breaking news update, India’s premier all-rounder and vice-captain Ravindra Jadeja is missing out for the opening ODI encounter against West Indies scheduled to take place at the Queen’s Park Oval in Port of Spain, Trinidad. Team India is scheduled to lock horns with West Indies in a three-match ODI series followed by as many as five T20I games.
Indian captain Shikhar Dhawan revealed at the toss that vice-captain Ravindra Jadeja misses out for the opening ODI game against West Indies due to a knee injury. Incidentally, Jadeja was reported to have sustained a niggle on his left knee just before the start of the ODI series and the medical team is still assessing the extent of seriousness of his injury. He was part of the India playing 11 for the final two T20Is and three ODI matches against England. The Men in Blue have appointed Shreyas Iyer as the vice-captain in the absence of Ravindra Jadeja.

Left-arm spinner Axar Patel has been included in the India playing XI as the like-for-like replacement due to Jadeja’s unavailability. On the other hand, Mohammed Siraj is the third frontline pacer for the visitors ahead of Avesh Khan and Arshdeep Singh.
