Ellis took a hat-trick in the last over of the Bangladesh’s innings by removing skipper Mahmudullah, Mahedi Hasan and Mustafizur Rahman off the successive deliveries to bowl Bangladesh out for 127 for 9 in 20 overs. The right-arm pacer didn’t had the best of the starts as he gave away 33 runs from 3.3 overs but bounced back in style and finished with the figures of 3/34.

Australia’s stand-in skipper Mathew Wade was quick to admit that his batsmen didn’t played brave cricket in conditions favouring spin. He further defended the approach taken by his team but also said they need to find a way to deal with the spinners.

“We’re going to have to be brave and stick to our plans. There’s not enough time to reinvent the wheel. But there’s a difference between being brave and being smart when you’re chasing lower totals. You can’t go into your shell in T20 cricket. You’re going to face the same bowlers tomorrow over and over again. So you’ve got to find a way to just work it out,” Mathew Wade said
