CPL Schedule: The Caribbean Premier League is back as the T20 tournament is set to stage its 9th edition, starting from 26th August 2021. For the unversed, the Caribbean Premier League is the annual T20 tournament organized by the West Indies Cricket Board in West Indies. The tournament was founded in 2013 as a replacement for Caribbean Twenty 20.

So far, as many as 8 editions have been held between 2013 and 2020. Jamaica Tallawahs won the inaugural edition of the tournament after beating Guyana Amazon Warriors in the final. Trinbago Knight Riders is the most successful franchise in the history of the tournament, having won the title on 4 occasions. The Knight Riders are also the defending champions. They won the title last year after beating St. Lucia Zouks in the final by 8 wickets.

CPL 2021 Schedule

The Caribbean Premier League 2021 edition is all set to commence in the month of August. The tournament will be staged between 26th August and 15th September 2021.

All the games will be taking place at St. Kitts and Nevis Stadium. As many as 33 games will be played at Warner Park.

The CPL 2021 is likely to see several changes in the squads. Chris Gayle and Dwayne Bravo have joined hands to play for St. Kitts and Nevis Patriots this year. Keemo Paul has moved to the St Lucia Zouks and Oshane Thomas will now be representing the Barbados Tridents.

Shakib al Hasan, Chris Morris, Faf du Plessis, Matthew Wade, Sandeep Lamichhane and Shoaib Malik are some of the prominent overseas signings this year. Players like Mohammad Amir and Smit Patel will be playing their maiden CPL tournament.

CPL Live Score

The Caribbean Premier League 2021 will be broadcasted live on Star Sports Network in India and its subcontinent. The matches will also be streamed live on Disney+Hotstar online platform. Star India has acquired exclusive media rights from CPL governing body and the Cricket West Indies (CWI) for two years.

In UK and Ireland, the matches will be broadcasted live on Sky Sports. SportsMax TV will telecast live coverage of CPL 2021 in the Caribbean region.

FanCode, India’s first multi-sport aggregator platform by Dream Sports, has partnered with Caribbean Premier League (CPL T20) to exclusively live stream all the cricket matches from the T20 tournament.

St Lucia Zouks Squad

St. Lucia Zouks haven’t had a great history in CPL. They remained at the bottom two spots in the first couple of editions. They reached finals for the first time in CPL history last year.
However, they lost the finals to Trinbago Knight Riders to finish as runners-up.The team will be led by Faf du Plessis. St. Lucia, this year boast of some strong names such as Faf du Plessis, Wahab Riaz, Mathew Wade and would be keen to clinch their first title.

The most successful team in CPL, Trinbago Knight Riders don’t need any introduction. They have reached semi-finals in all editions and have won the title on 4 occasions. Kieron Pollard and Co. won the title last year and are favorites to win this year as well.

Ahead of the 2021 edition, they have a strong chance of winning the title as the team has added the services of world-class players like Dwayne Bravo and Chris Gayle. Rassie Van der Dussen, W Hasaranga, R Gurbaz, and A Nortje are their four overseas signings.

Jason Holder currently leads the team. Their overseas signings include the likes of Chris Morris, Thisara Perera, Smit Patel, Azam Khan, Mohammad Amir etc.

The Warriors finished as runners-up on 5 occasions and reached the semi-finals three times. They would be hoping to clinch the title this year.

The team will be led by Nicholas Pooran, while their overseas signings include some experienced players such as Shoaib Malik, Mohammad Hafeez and Imran Tahir to name a few.

Jamaica Tallawahs is one of the strongest teams in the Caribbean Premier League. Tallahwahs were the winners in the inaugural edition after beating Guyana Amazon Warriors in the finals. Jamaica Tallawahs won the title for the second time in 2016.

The team is currently led by Rovman Powell and boasts of some world-class players such as Andre Russell, Shakib Al-Hasan, Carlos Brathwaite to name a few.
