With the series being levelled at 1-1, Team India and Sri Lanka are squaring off in the decider of the three-match T20I series at  R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium, Colombo. The visitors, after being rocked by COVID-19 ahead of the second T20I, once again stepped into the field with six bowlers and five batsmen due to the unavailability of another batsman.

The Indian skipper Shikhar Dhawan won the toss and decided to bat first in the third and final T20I  of the series against Sri Lanka. Amongst all the Indian wickets that fell, Nitish Rana’s wicket was exceptional as the Sri Lanka skipper Dasun Shanaka took a brilliant catch off his bowling to dismiss the southpaw for just 6 runs.

Shanaka bowled a slower delivery on the last ball of his over and Nitish Rana tried to steal the single and only managed to hit the ball in the air. The Sri Lanka skipper then timed his dive to perfection and took a one-handed blinder to send the last recognised Indian batsman packing.

SL vs IND Live: Sri Lanka has never won a T20I series against India till now

The Sri Lanka cricket team is yet to beat India in the shortest format of the game. So far, both the Asian nations have faced each other in the seven T20I series. The Men in blue, however, has dominated Lankans in six of them, while one series ended in a draw.

With only 82 runs to win against Team India in the final and the third T20I of the series, Sri Lanka has a great opportunity to create history and beat Shikhar Dhawan-led side for the first time in the T20I series.
