Watch Thakur get his Test cap from this former India player

Shardul Thakur has an experience of 55 first-class games and 188 wickets at an average of 28.27. His consistent performance in the Mumbai Ranji side was hailed by several former cricket players and he soon made it to India’s A teams and IPL.

Thakur performed exceptionally well in the IPL for Chennai Super Kings which brought him to the limelight and skyrocketed his entry into international cricket.

He was part of India’s Test squad for some time but never got an opportunity to feature in the playing XI courtesy of the stiff competition. However with Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammad Shami rested and Ishant Sharma injured, the selectors brought in Thakur and Mohammad Siraj for the Test series against Windies and the team management decided to give an opportunity to the Mumbai pacer ahead of Siraj.

India had declared a 12-member team yesterday for the second Test and today morning it was clear that Thakur would make his Test debut.
