IND vs ENG Prediction: India and England will renew their rivalry as they clash against each other in the ICC T20 World Cup warm up game. England finished as the runner-ups in the last edition after a heartbreaking loss to West Indies in the finals. Meanwhile, India lost in the semifinals to the eventual champions.
Both teams enter the tournament as the firm favorites. India lifted the ICC T20 World Cup in its inaugural edition in 2007, whereas, England lifted the title in 2010. The two teams squared off against each other in a blockbuster five match T20I series earlier this year.

WARM UP MATCH, T20 World Cup

ICC Academy Ground, Dubai
India and England played out a thrilling five match T20I series in March this year. India went on to win the series by the barest of margins, winning 3-2. Both teams have one of the strongest sides in the tournament, with equal firepower in their batting and bowling departments.
However, England will miss the likes of Jofra Archer and Ben Stokes, who is still on his indefinite break from cricket. Jonny Bairstow and Jos Buttler played no role in the second half of the IPL, and will look to get some match practice ahead of the group stage matches.
The match will be broadcasted on the Star Sports Network in India, and is available in multiple languages which includes English, Hindi, Telugu and Tamil. The match can also be streamed live on the Disney Hotstar App. The warm up game will be played in Dubai at the ICC Academy Ground. The match will be broadcasted in over 100 countries worldwide.
IND vs ENG Head to Head: The two teams have met 19 times in T20I matches so far. India lead the head to head encounter by a small margin as the score stands at 10-9.
IND – 60%
ENG – 40%
India is expected to emerge victorious in their first warm up game of the tournament, given that most of their players were involved in the Indian Premier League. Suryakumar Yadav struck some form in the last few matches of the IPL, whereas, KL Rahul ended the campaign as the third highest run-getter. However, India’s batting combination is still anyone’s guess, and it will be interesting to see the lineup the Men in Blue field on Monday.
Bet365: ENG: 2.10; IND: 1.72
India have some of the finest batters in world cricket, in the form of Rohit Sharma, KL Rahul and Virat Kohli. England also have a star studded batting lineup with Jos Buttler, Jonny Bairstow and Jason Roy in their ranks.
Rohit Sharma is certainly India’s most important batter going into the World Cup. The right-hander did not have a great IPL campaign, and he will hope to come good on the most important stage of all.
Virat Kohli has been awarded the player of the tournament in each of the two previous editions of the T20 World Cup. He smashed three half centuries in the previous campaign, which includes a terrific knock against Australia to guide his team to the semifinals.
Jos Buttler is one of the most explosive batsman on the international stage at the moment. He will open the batting alongside Jason Roy, and the duo are expected to give their side a blistering start. He has scored 1871 runs in 82 T20Is at an average of 31.71 and a strike rate touching the 140s.
The pitch at Dubai will favor the bowlers, as was seen in the recently concluded Indian Premier League (IPL). Both teams have quality spinners in their team. Adil Rashid will be the leading spinner for England, whereas, R Ashwin and Rahul Chahar are few of the options for India. Batsman will have to take their time to settle into the game, as connecting the ball from the word go will not be an easy task.
If IND bats first: 160-170
If ENG bats first: 150-160
The temperature in Dubai is expected to exceed 30 degree Celsius for the majority of the match. Towards the second innings, the weather will cool down a little, offering assistance to the pace bowlers. However, there is no prediction of any rainfall during the warm up game.
