The Bangladesh team has always been known for their aggressive style of cricket. There have been numerous number of occasions where they have shown their real intent in the field. In the 2011 World Cup, Rubel Hossain and Virat Kohli was involved in a furious exchange. In the 2016 T20 World Cup, Mushfiqur Rahim was seen celebrating the victory prematurely and then the team ultimately lost the match. Then, Shakib Al Hasan has displayed his bad attitude over the years and also got banned for few years. In the latest news, Mushfiqur Rahim has one again been questioned for his choice of words.
The Bangladesh wicketkeeper-batsman has been involved in a controversy after the stump mic audio got viral. The incident happened during the 2nd ODI between Bangadesh and Sri Lanka. The Bangladesh team posted a score of 256 on the board, on the back of terrific 125 from Rahim. Then the bowlers helped the team to win the match. But this game will be remembered for the remark made by Rahim towards the Sri Lanka batsman Danush Gunathilaka.
The incident happened during one of spinner Mehidy Hasan’s over, when Gunathilaka and Nissanka were batting. The latter steered the ball and Hasan dived to stop the single, but Gunathilaka tried to take a quick single. The single was forbidden due to the fielder positioned at short-leg. Then, Rahim was heard saying in Bengali language,
“Push him and drop him to the ground if he comes in your way,”

The Bangladesh team has been terrific in this series with winning the 1st and 2nd ODI by 33 and 103 runs respectively. In the 2nd ODI, the team got from contribution from Liton Das and Mahmudullah, apart from centurion Rahim. In the bowling unit, Mustafizur and Mehidy Hasan picked 3 wickets each. Rahim and Mehdidy Hasan was adjudged as the player of the match and most valuable player of the match respectively.
