Who won today’s IPL match?: The 11th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 saw Chennai Super Kings taking on Punjab Kings at Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. After a poor outing in their second match, the Mayank Agarwal-led displayed a staggering performance with both bat and ball and outclassed “Men in Yellow” by 54 runs to claim their second win of the season.

Asked to bat first, Punjab Kings had a forgettable start as they first lost Mayank Agarwal (4) on the second ball of the match and then an unfortunate run out saw in form Bhanuka Rajapaksa (9) back in the hut. But after that, it was Liam Livingstone’s show. The English batsman went after the bowlers from the word go and smashed a brutal half-century to take his side into a comfortable position. He was supported well by Shikhar Dhawan (33) and Jitesh Sharma (26). A crucial knock by Rahul Chahar and Rabada in the end helped PBKS post a total of 180 runs on the board. For CSK, Chris Jordan was the pick of the bowlers and returned with the figures of 2/23.

Chasing the target, Chennai too had a forgettable start as they lost both the openers inside the first two overs. If this was not enough Moeen Ali and skipper Ravindra Jadeja fell for duck as CSK found themselves tumbling at 23/4. After that Shivam Dube (62) brought his side back into the game with a powerful fifty but fell to Liam Livingstone, who on the next ball removed Dwayne Bravo for duck. CSK’s hopes relied on MS Dhoni but the keeper-batsman was back in the hut in the 18th over. Rahul Chahar then closed the game for his side by taking his 3rd wicket as PBKS won the match by 54 runs.

Punjab Kings all-rounder Liam Livingstone won the man of the match today in IPL’s encounter against Chennai Super Kings. It was a sensational display of all-round skills by the English player. Livingston came to bat when PBKS were 14/2. He came out all guns blazing and took CSK bowlers to the cleaners. The right-hander scored 60 runs in 32 balls to go with 5 sixes and 5 fours. If this was not enough he took the crucial wicket of Shivam Dube and then followed it with the wicket of Dwayne Bravo to win the match for his side.
