Dawid Malan to play PBKS vs RCB IPL Match? Here’s Punjab Kings’ likely overseas players

The Punjab Kings have been an average side in the IPL. Their best performance came in the IPL 2014 where they emerged as the runner-up. The likes of Glenn Maxwell and David Miller became popular after their success in the Punjab franchise. In the IPL 2020, they finished in the 6th position in the points table. The Indian opener KL Rahul leads the team and has been the highest run-scorer as well from the past 2 seasons.

In this season, they have been able to win only 2 out of 6 matches. The batting performance of the team has been dismal with the likes of Nicholas Pooran and Moises Henriques not performing up to their potential. Although, Chris Gayle and Mayank Agrawal have scored runs but have not given consistent performances. In 6 matches, Pooran has scored only 28 runs and has not helped the middle-order of the team flourish in crucial situations. In place of him, the no. 1 T20I batsman Dawid Malan can be called in due to his ability to stabilize and play attacking innings. In 24 T20I matches, he has scored 1003 runs at an average of 30.15 and has helped the England team to get better in the middle-overs. If he features, this will be his debut match in the IPL.

Predicting Playing XI and overseas players of Punjab Kings

Punjab Kings will likely go with the same XI or have one change; Nicholas Pooran could make way for Dawid Malan. Pooran’s form has been disastrous this season and the backing has been unreal for him, despite having the No.1 T20 Batsman, Dawid Malan, who has not played a game until yet.

Gayle has been in on and off a touch, and KL won’t look to drop him unless he wants to play Malan at the top. Indian players in this team, have been consistent with their performances and it is unlikely to drop any of them. While Henriques and Jordan are likely to keep their place in this match due to fine performance in the last league match.

PBKS Playing XI (Predicted)

1. KL Rahul (c, wk)
2. Mayank Agarwal
3. Chris Gayle
4. Dawid Malan
5. Deepak Hooda
6. Shahrukh Khan
7. Moises Henriques
8. Chris Jordan
9. Ravi Bishnoi
10. Mohammed Shami
11. Arshdeep Singh
