Delhi Capitals Captain: The IPL will soon start from April 9 and all the core players of the squad have reached their team camps. As posted in the earlier news article, two international series are currently underway, with New Zealand playing Bangladesh and South Africa paying Pakistan. The players like Mustafizur Rahman, Ish Sodhi, Milne, Young, Kagiso Rabada, Quinton De Kock, Anrich Nortje, and Lungi Ngidi will come after few days and have to follow quarantine rules and will miss the team’s 1st IPL game.
In this article, we discuss about the DC Captain. Finally, the Delhi Capitals team’s captain for the IPL 2021 season is the wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant.
The Indian wicketkeeper-batsman who is in terrific form across all the formats for the Indian team is chosen as the Delhi Capitals team for the IPL 2021 season. The captain of the last season, Shreyas Iyer who helped the team to reach the finals of the IPL 2020 season will be unavailable due to a shoulder injury.
The official account of the Delhi Capitals posted on Twitter regarding the confirmation of the captaincy role.
The team management statement read:
“I would like to wish Shreyas a speedy recovery,” said DC Chairman & Co-owner Mr Kiran Kumar Grandhi on the occasion, “Under Shreyas’ captaincy, our team reached newer heights, and he is going to be missed immensely. In his absence, the franchise has collectively picked Rishabh to lead the team this year. While it has come under unfortunate circumstances, it is a tremendous opportunity for him to grow further. I wish him all the best in his new role.”
Shreyas Iyer on Rishabh Pant being chosen as Delhi Captials Captain:
He said, “When I sustained the shoulder injury, and Delhi Capitals needed a leader for this edition of the IPL, I had no doubt that Rishabh would be the best man for the job. He has all my good wishes to make amazing things happen with our absolutely incredible team. I’m going to miss the team tremendously, and will be cheering for them throughout.”

With the addition of these players, the team is looking quite strong in bowling as well as batting department.
