England squad for ENG vs IND 2022: In a big breaking news development, hosts England have announced their white-ball squads for the upcoming three-match ODI series and 3 T20I games against India at home. England are scheduled to host India with a new mindset and a new limited-overs captain in Jos Buttler who took over the reins recently following former skipper Eoin Morgan announcing his retirement from international cricket with immediate effect.
The England Cricket Board (ECB) has named the both ODI and T20I squad for the upcoming limited-overs home series against India. The big update is that premier leg-spinner Adil Rashid will miss the entire white-ball series as he has been granted permission to make the Haji pilgrimage to Mecca and Matt Parkinson has been included in both the England ODI and T20I squads. In other news, senior batsman Joe Root makes his return to the ODI squad for the first time since last July. Lancashire pacer Richard Gleeson has been handed his maiden T20I call-up following brilliant performances in the ongoing Vitality T20 Blast.
The trio of Dawid Malan, David Payne and Luke Wood have only been named in the England T20I squad and not picked for the ODIs after playing the last ODI series against Netherlands. On the other hand, England Test skipper Ben Stokes had not been considered for this India limited-overs series while Harry Brook replaces Eoin Morgan.
