Rohit Sharma ENG vs IND Test: In a massive breaking news update, India captain Rohit Sharma has been ruled out of the fifth and final rescheduled Test match against England starting from 1 July, 2022 at the Edgbaston in Birmingham. India have a 2-1 lead in the five-match Test series against England after their remarkable performances at the Lord’s and Oval in 2021. The visitors also have a massive opportunity to register their first Test series win in England since 2007.
After testing positive for COVID-19 and not having recovered in the last few days, Rohit Sharma is not available for selection in the all-important 5th Test match against England starting from Friday. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) also confirmed that Jasprit Bumrah has been appointed as the India Test captain for this crucial game while wicket-keeper batsman Rishabh Pant will be his deputy. Bumrah has become the first pacer in 35 years to lead India in a Test match after legendary cricketer Kapil Dev.

The big update is that Cheteshwar Pujara will open the batting for India alongside Shubman Gill. The visitors have included both Hanuma Vihari and Shreyas Iyer in the playing 11 while Ravindra Jadeja is the spin bowling all-rounder ahead of Ravichandran Ashwin.
