England Playing 11 ENG vs NZ: In a massive breaking news update, hosts England have announced their playing 11 for the upcoming second Test match against New Zealand scheduled to begin from 10 June, 2022 at the Trent Bridge in Nottingham. England took a 1-0 lead in the three-match Test series after having registered an amazing 5-wicket victory over New Zealand in the first Test match. Joe Root was the star performer with the bat for the hosts as he scored a sensational match-winning hundred in the fourth innings run-chase.
The Ben Stokes-led England team have named an unchanged playing XI for the second Test match against New Zealand starting from Friday. Left-arm orthodox spinner Jack Leach has retained his place in the England side after having suffered a concussion during the first Test match of the series at the Lord’s. However, he is now fit to play the second Test match as he has completed his mandatory seven-day concussion return-to-play protocol.
Even after winning the opening Test match of the series, England will be hoping for a better performance especially from their top-order comprising of Alex Lees, Zak Crawley and Ollie Pope.
