ENG vs SL 2nd ODI: Possible Playing 11 of England

Share

ENG Playing 11: England will face Sri Lanka in the 2nd ODI of the series here at the Oval, London with an aim to seal the series. The hosts dominated the first match for most of the part but will not be fully pleased with their performance. The batting gave them a scare at one point and it required a Root masterclass to take them over the line. England leads the head-to-head record in ODIs 37-36. England are 4th in the ODI Rankings while Sri Lanka are ranked 9th. With Stokes and Buttler not in the team, this is a great chance for Sam Billings to make a case for himself.

Team News
Jason Roy is likely to return after missing the last game due to tight hamstring. Liam Livingstone is likely to make way for him.

With Roy and Bairstow at the top, England have a dangerous opening pair capable of destroying any bowling attack. They have been one of the most successful opening pairs in world cricket for some time now. Joe Root proved in the last match why he is so important to this line-up. In a batting line-up always looking for quick runs, Root provides stability and rotates the strike extremely well. Woakes and Willey had combined figures of 7-62 in the last match.
