Umran Malik IPL: Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) young fast bowler Umran Malik has been striking some serious pace with the ball in the ongoing 15th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) on a consistent basis. The 22-year-old Jammu & Kashmir pacer came into limelight last season having drafted into the SRH squad as a COVID replacement for T Natarajan. After consistently clocking over 150 kmph last year, SRH was forced to retain him ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction.

For the Sunrisers Hyderabad, right-arm speedster Umran Malik looked in an impressive rhythm during the opening game against Rajasthan Royals this year in the Indian Premier League. However, the Jammu & Kashmir cricketer has bettered his bowling speeds in the today IPL match against Lucknow Super Giants at the Dr DY Patil Stadium in Mumbai. In the 14th over of the game, Umran bowled the fastest ball of IPL 2022 while clocking an incredible speed of 152.4 kmph.

Umran Malik also hold the record of bowling the fastest ball by an Indian bowler in the history of the Indian Premier League. During IPL 2021 season, Umran clocked bowling speeds of  152.95 and 152.05 kmph.

The Lucknow Super Giants lost the toss and were put in to bat first after which they ended up losing three big wickets inside the first six overs of the powerplay. However, the pair of skipper KL Rahul and Deepak Hooda then batted amazingly well to bail their team out of trouble. Hooda smashed an exciting knock of 51 runs off 33 balls while Rahul scored 68 runs off 50 deliveries.
